Wow, you are able to cognitively distort simple English, aren't you? In no world does saying "It wasn't all down to a lack of talent" equate to "Calling it a talented roster." I described only several players, not the entire roster. Lastly, I hammered the point into your thick skull--or tried to. So you understood what I meant, instead choosing to ignore it. Any attempts now to distort my words are just sad. Like, why does this matter to you? Are you in need of a win this badly? If so, fine, take it. It's a message board, after all.

I do not think we would be winning more games with Murphy on this team.

Allen is another story - really sucks we couldn’t hold on to him. Keim mucked it first by not locking him in earlier. Monti if I remember showed interest, but was rebuffed. You guys discussing culture are probably half right- I think Allen more so didn’t like the culture here at that time which was a super low point for this franchise with a losers culture that was planning to start from scratch. It’s hard to blame him for wanting to bounce

That guy has a nasty habit of doing that, lol.

Agreed with all of this. In the 2025 offseason, he needs to restock at certain positions (like on the OL and ILB, if we lose White) and he especially needs to get high impact talent on the defense. If he can't do both, he will have failed. It's do or die for Monti in 2025, because failure there dooms us to the purgatory of merely being "in the hunt" all the time at best.
I remember people bashing the acquisition of White. Hopefully he was just a bandaid to get Gannon’s defensive scheme incorporated. Although he played well last year we need more at his position.

I guess this issue is whether or not you believe the Cardinals are moving on from White to strengthen his position… or because they just don’t want to pay him and will go with someone cheaper.

The cheaper route is the team this team has historically gone for with FA who leave, going all the way back to replacing a Karlos Dansby with a Rob Fredrickson to Allen/Murphy for proof of that.

The question for me, does White want to leave or whether the decision is based on the coaching staff determining the position needs an upgrade.

I don’t really care about the history of two past players.

I think it’s really naive not to question if White leaving is a matter of money rather than production/scheme.

I don’t really care about the history of two past players.

It’s the history of THE FRANCHISE.

The DC named his son after White. He’s a captain. Hard to believe they don’t value him.

If White wants to leave that’s also on Monti. Recruiting and retaining free agents is part of his job.

the Bowers debate would be more interesting had taking him at #4 been a serious consideration. It wasnt except for Chris.

MHJ vs Nabers? good debate. There was some early Joe Alt consideration, but that pretty much died when they signed Jonah Williams.

the best phenomena is how AFTER the results of a draft are known, everyone is a BPA zealot,

while before the draft, nearly everyone is Draft for NEED

Rob replaced Jamir Miller. :D

We replaced Dansby with Paris Lenon.

I get it.
However, 4 wins in year one.
Year two 8 wins and within a whisker of winning this division if we score 20 pts against the Seahawks and the Rams.

If in year 3 we win the division, or make the playoffs or win a playoff game he will be praised for doing a great job.

If he doesn’t, he will be a bum. I’m happy with the direction we are headed.
Here is the thing, the team can be improving despite Monti being a mediocre GM. A decently coached team and a slightly below average roster can get you around .500 in this league.

So Keim was good at this job then, since we jettisoned "most of the talent"?

JJ Watt Retired
Zach Allen and Byron Murphy were mid. Allen was Elite this year (6 years into the league) and Murphy played well this year on one of the most talented defenses in the NFL.
Deandre Hopkins couldn't stay on the field, hurt his team, and has only 1 decent season over the past 4 seasons.
AJ Green?
Rodney Hudson?

Who are "most of the talent" that you are referring to?
You should get a 1 day ban for calling Allen mid when he left. Just a unserious comment.

Murphy like Kirk went to Saguaro and so their track record in terms of culture and personality is well known. Both were great and everything you want in a player. We stiffed both home grown guys. :(

Never heard anything bad about Allen as well.
Kirk wanted #1 money and will be the 9th highest paid WR next season and was I believe the 7th this past year. I understand why SK passed on matching. Hes average about 60 receptions and 800 yards in his three seasons in Jacksonville, which is slightly more than his time in AZ.

Murphy and Allen were both reasonable contracts. I'd love to hear why they both moved on from Monti because it doesn't make sense on paper.

Cardinals lost to the Panthers because Wilson Sr didn’t play. I agree upgrade White.
