Didn't he do the moonwalk once in the end zone? Crazy, he always seemed like a good guy.

Terrible news, he never seemed like a guy who would be caught up in the gang life and I can't speculate as to why he was killed but this is definitely tragic.

I interviewed him in 1995 after his senior season. To best of one's ability to determine such things in an interview, I thought he was one of the nicest, most genuine athletes I'd ever spoken with. He was patient, gave me his full attention, and just generally positive.

This is just stunning to me. I can't imagine a scenario in which he would have put himself in harm's way like this.

It's certainly sad. R.I.P.

Found with a woman that wasn't his wife makes it sound like it might be sordid.

Some family from Nashville say he's been in the local press a lot over the years for running around with multiple women...

Wow.

He was one of the reasons why i, as a soccerloving European, became interested in and later hooked on the game of football in the year of the Music City miracle and the superbowl against Warner. Shocking news....

RIP.

Wow real sad I really hope he didn't kill his gf and than kill himself.... that would tarnish his image so much just a story that floating around you never know. But he was a great football player and I never thought I would see this story about Mcnair just real shocking :(. A lot of famous people dieing this week Jackson and Mcnair, and that one actor from Jurrasic Park and ID Day guy with the black hair not sure of his name.

What jurrasic park actor died? And who is the ID Day guy?

Dont forget about Farrah Fawcett and Billy Mays (the infomercial guy). Very crazy week.

actually it was Jeff Goldblum but luckly it was just a real bad hoax that some reporter made up.... Just go to imdb.com and type in that name and you will find the information.

Yeah, he was on the Colbert Report to show that he wasn't dead.

Steve McNair was maybe my favorite football player of all-time. I loved watching him in Tennessee and later with him, the Ravens were the second team I followed. It's so sad to hear this. He was such a tough player, battling through injuries and finishing up with a very solid career. Funny, I hated Kurt Warner for years, especially because he beat McNair's Titans that year... RIP

I'll remember him as one of the toughest S.O.B.s to play in the NFL this generation. Its a shame the injuries finally got to him; otherwise, he would have had a longer career. This is yet another tragedy for pro football players. Like Sean Taylor, it sounds like a botched robbery attempt.

RIP
