I hope all of you out there in the Mid Atlantic to New England and northeast weather this hurricane ok. They are predicting 70-90 MPH winds at my house for 12 hours. The worst coming at noon Monday to daybreak Tuesday. I fully expect to be w/o power for MNF. You all be safe!

It is nuts in my supermarket, we had lines at 5 registers at 1 AM this morning! I took off for MNF, but I'll be going into work then anyway with this mayhem going on.
Be careful out there.

Thanks, and will do.

Have been through big storms before. Got everything I need to not only wait out the storm, but to do so comfortably.

That derecho thing in the beginning of summer really played Darwin with all the trees around my area, kind of a like a huge pruning of the area, so trees falling shouldn't be a problem, fixed my roof, and the fire department fixed theirs.

Just gotta hope the luck of the draw is with me, and stay calm.

I have Satellite TV and a very quality generator for electronics, so if the storm lets the signal through the clouds I may still be able to see the game.

Everyone be safe!

You too, they are saying this can be as bad or worse than the 1938 hurricane which devastated the state. It'll be good to focus on football, at least for today.

Just got done getting gas for the generator and kerosene for the heater. Test ran the sump pump and got the backup on standby. Good to go with water and ready to batten down the hatches and ride it out. Thanks for thinking about us!

I live right on the shore in New Haven. Was "advised" to evacuate. Some of my neighbors are staying put. I got a hotel room 30 min. north. I just hope we don't lose power for MNF.

I gassed up Friday before the big panic. Got about 12 gallons of gas for the generator and the generator itself was already full. The way they are tracking this thing it is going to end up directly on my front lawn. Unfortunately for me, I have to work(essential personnel). I'll go to work but my biggest fear is getting stuck while my wife is at home alone. She's a strong woman but I don't like the thought of her being alone. I'm going to try to convince her to go to her parents house with the dogs. Hopefully I'll get to come home tomorrow night to take care of her. Other than that, we're as ready as we're going to be. Plenty of water(we have city water so that shouldn't be a problem), plenty of food, plenty of candles, flashlights, and lanterns.

I concur. Godspeed to everyone.

Be safe those in NJ and up I-95. Sitting here in Harrisburg, I am expecting the big winds to hit about 9pm est. Should be a deluge by 2pm.

We should be good to go here. Hopefully the power stays on (and the DirecTV) till Midnight at least. My fingers are crossed.

I expect the power to go out at some point. But even if we have power come 8:30pm EDT, I doubt DirecTV will give me a signal, so I fully expect NOT to see tonight's game. :bang:

Oh well.

Anyone who decided to stay on the barrier islands are stuck now. Pictures in from the shore from Long Beach Island to Atlantic City show streets already flooded and they showed Ocean City at 9th street and there's no getting to the bridge to get out. We're getting rain and the wind is picking up. All we can do is pray for the best.

God Bless ALL along the eastern seaboard. Our prayers are with you. I just heard on the weather channel that this storm carries the lowest air-pressure reading ever recorded for a storm that far north. That, coupled with the cold air mass moving east, and the full moon to boot makes this storm unprecedented. Extra high tides, extra high winds along a thousand mile front, and instability where the two storms meet will cause havoc on a monstrous scale. Please stay high and dry. Stay safe my friends.

PS: By way of comparison, flooding is already comparable to what the NE Seaboard suffered during Hurricane Irene. The kicker is that this storm is still more than 200 miles off shore. High tide this evening , on the full moon, will be devastating.

Alls well in Brooklyn! Lets hope the treatment facility near my apartment on Newton Creek has disaster contingencies! It can get stinky enough when contained!

FYI, one of the lessons I learned as a responder to Katrina is NOT to be reliant on city water. If the flooding is bad enough, the pumps don't run. No water and sewage backup turned the streets nasty.

Stock up and good luck.

wind is picking up here in RI coast lines have been evacuated and I am just waiting for the power to go out. In Narragansett it looks like a snow storm because of all the sea foam down at the walls.

Yeah winds are seriously picking up here for me too. Power outages in CT pretty much tripled in less than two hours. We are getting frequent gusts of near 60. I'm about 30 miles from the coast. I still have power and if my power can hold out to 8pm I am hopeful ill be able to watch the entire game tonight. I hope you are all faring well also.

I'm in a Manhattan high rise so I don't have to worry about floods. Winds have picked up the last hour; crossing my fingers for power until midnight, afterwards, I don't care as much:)
