For years I have been smh as to how Marvin Lewis has been always revered and respected so highly as a "fine coach and a fine man". He may be a fine man but he really is a terrible head coach.

Last night Boomer and Bill Cowher didn't sugar coat it and said the head coach was to blame. Cowher said the head coach has to get those guys in control or off of the field. Boomer said, as a former Bengal, he was very embarrassed.

I am not a Bengals fan and always said (before Michael Bidwill) "at least the Cards aren't the Bengals". They were/are a worse run organization than the Cards were under Bill Bidwill, at least IMO.

Marvin Lewis needs to be fired today. Period. But, he either has pictures or is simply a company shill who doesn't rock the boat to Mr. Brown.

That game last night by BOTH teams was a disgrace.

It's hard to fire a coach when his teams make the playoffs every year.

Lovie Smith was let go with a 10-6 record. Bears haven't been remotely in contention since.

Im not even a Bengal fan and I felt embarrassed sitting on my couch alone last night watching it happen. It was like watching some young and uneducated couple argue and air all their dirty laundry in public.

If for no other reason, Lewis should be fired. Is he crying or just begging? Now that is an enseble and the perfect picture for why the Bengals aren't playing next week. The 3 Amigos, Burfict/Jones?Lewis.

so weird that certain franchises just seem to lose games in the most inexplicable ways:

Witness the Lions literally being about 6 inches from a giant win with the ball in their best players hands-- and it get fumbled through the end zone.

How about the Browns getting a blocked kick returned to lose a game as time expires.

And now the Bengals, with arguably their best team ever: what a way to lose a playoff to a hated division rival, a game that they had won. Almost as bad as the Packers meltdown last year.

For all his talent-- hasn't Burfict shown that this is exactly what you can expect from him?

Burfict and Jones are dirty.

Bengals should be advancing. Burfict is known for his cheap shots and Jones has a bad history.
Burfict should be fined and suspended and should have been throw out of the game. This is not the first time he or Jones screwed up and Marvin Lewis has the ultimate responsibility. He should be fired already. I don't like the Steelers but glad the Bengals are out.

Burfict was also the reason Cincy was even in a position to win. Lots of over reactions here.

Should they cut Jeremy Hill also for fumbling?

There's not even a comparison. This is just a silly statement. Burfict's a dirty player who has a long history of doing so. Sometimes a good player hurts your team more than helps it. And, guess what? All of his good plays put together equals less than nothing, since he almost single-handedly eliminated his team from the playofffs.

If the Bengals ownership had any stones they would be offering Hue Jackson the position right now and cutting Lewis and Burfict. I'll give Pacman a pass because of Porter's obvious trolling.

didn't the eagles fire a coach after three consecutive NFC Championship games??

Never liked the Giants,...but when their coach could no longer control his players on the field,...he resigned, stepped down, whatever you want to call it,...and he even won super bowls...

I am not expecting to see that level of class from marvin lewis

he should be fired...... then his job should be given to Kenny whizzz

It reminded me of the last years of Burfect at ASU..

Marvin Lewis should have been fired 15 minutes after the game ended.

Cincinnati; still better than Cleveland.

You're welcome Cincy chamber of commerce.

How that guy still has a job is quite baffling..

His teams constantly under achieve. Last year and this year there were "experts" that say they are the most talented team in football. Yet every year they do exactly squat.

His teams are undisciplined and dirty. His Playoff coaching results speak for themselves. WINLESS!!! Their owner make sit very clear that he is perfectly OK with average or mediocrity. No wonder Carson wanted to leave that franchise.

Not that I disagree with anything above, however if Jeff Fisher can keep his job, why can't Marvin Lewis?

Pure classic Vontaze Burfict.

This is who he is. No one can deny it.

He destroyed ASU seasons, now he's destroyed a Bengals season.

When the chips are down, he goes crazy. You can't trust him. When he does something, for whatever reason, it snowballs and sucks other players into committing penalties too.

What we saw last night happened so many times for ASU.

Burfict gets a sack. Burfict forces a fumble... doesn't recover... Burfict called for late hit, 1st down. Kick a field goal... ASU LOSES. Or he gets baited into after the play personal foul, or does something stupid on the opposing team's sideline. This list is endless.

He is the craziest person on the field I have ever seen.

He has a knack for making you think he can singlehandedly snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, only to then to act like a knucklehead to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

He giveths, and then he takeths away.

The only thing needed to make this complete is for Burfict to now throw Lewis under the bus like he did Erickson.

VB is a team killer, he's a season destroyer, and he's now struck again. Anyone that watched him in college knows this to be true.

How many times does he have to do EXACTLY THIS before people realize it? He'll destroy your team and your season. It's what he does. You cannot trust him.

People thought Lewis reached him.... NOPE. When the chips are down, he goes crazy.

Marvin Lewis brought him on, he's to blame. Because yes he has talent... but he does this... and negates that talent. This was known, and now it's destroyed a Bengals season.

If that's enough to push them into firing him, then it should. If not, and it likely won't this season, he'll be on a shorter leash next season. If the Bengals don't make the playoffs, he's probably gone now. If they lose in the first round next year... he's probably gone.

I wish I could say I didn't see it coming, but I could, because it's Vontaze Burfict. Multi-million dollar talent... 5 cent head.

as bad as Mike Brown is as an owner, there's still no team that was run as poorly as Bill's back in the day. 7 straight playoff appearances alone dwarf anything Bow-tie ever did.

Ha! :D

The owner is the GM. Paul Brown isn't firing himself for drafting knuckleheads.

I didn't know that, but I didn't call for the GM to get fired--I called for the owner to tell the GM to fire/cut. So, I guess Paul Brown can tell himself, "Self, cut the knuckleheads and fire the coach" :)

For sure... 0-7 in the playoffs(with arguably the most talented roster in football over some of that time) and no control of his team he definitely deserves to come back. Because im sure his coaching DVOA is super stellar.... Haha
