He's gonna want to chase that ring now no way he comes here. I would like to see Dansby back but there's been no news. He said he would love to play here again
Apparently Dansby has been talking to the Chiefs.

I hate to see this. Same as for us with Wilson. I wish the NFL would allow a hero exemption. Teams could designate one player as a legacy and his salary wouldn't count against the cap or against the 53. Would have to be a player with 10 years in the league with the same team.

He was really p---ed off with the Bear's offer of 1 year at 2.5 million. He had a poor year in 2012 and is nearing the end of his career. He said he would accept a 1 year 2.5 million deal from another team but no longer will take it from the Bears. The Bears are probably happy he did not take it. He may have been the best Linebacker in Bear history and that is saying a lot. I think he should retire quietly as a Bear and become an announcer. He is almost a sure fire first round Hall of Fame pick. Does not seem that long ago that we passed on him in the draft and I do not even recall who we got. Probably a failure of some sort. Many of you who live in AZ wanted us to take him.

Write the NFL - that is a fantastic idea. Legacy Tag. This would promote local superstars to stick around rather than leaving to another city and maybe the home team would be willing to pony up a little more since it wouldnt affect the cap. One legacy tag per year only. The only issue is like someone else said: QBs. Manning and brady get like 20 mil a year, thats a lot to not be on the cap.

He wants about $3 million/year. Bears gave him a take-it-or-leave it offer of $2M for 1 year.

I agree with BRR. Here, I took the liberty of drafting a letter for you. Please, please, please fill out the rest of the info, sign it, and send it to Goodell. He does have a history of responding to good fan ideas and this is a great one.

how cool would it be if the legacy tag is implemented next year and originated on ASFN?

I like it - I like the Non-QB rule, but I would actually just make it a max of $4 million a year.

That sir is a great idea. A "Legacy" player sounds awesome.
