He's pretty much just being humble and playing it cool. Tom Brady is special don't matter who's around him he can make them look like a million bucks and man you talk about being cool in the big moment the guy is never rattled

He's the GOAT.

I think I would take Montana over him.

Maybe I'm old school, but Montana's coolness in the clutch makes him #1 for me too. But, that said, it's really hard to talk down Brady in ANY way. It's just a matter of taste maybe.

I can respect that. I just don't think Brady would be as good in just any system. The same could probably be argued for Montana as well though.

He's being humble and respectful to his idol. If Belichick viewed Brady as a system QB he'd have traded him years ago for multiple 1st rounders.

System QB? That's Joe in a nutshell. He had Bill Walsh, who also was a genius coach, with a West Coast Offense no one could defend. No salary cap too. And then there was this Rice guy (who started the YAC stat). Love Joe too but I have to go with the San Mateo Kid. Gulp, did I just say that?

no free agency either for the most part...teams had to draft well

I'd take a few QB's over both.

I think both Montana and Brady were/are system QB's ............. except in Brady's case, he has left that behind the last few years. Brady's first 10 years in the league I was never really impressed with his game. He always had a great defense, and a good running game.

But, since then, even though I am not a fan of Tom Brady, he has been one hell of a QB. I do not think the system matters with Brady anymore, he has done it without a running game, an offensive line, a defense.

I would take Brady over Montana.

Good point. However BB has to draft well too and then because of free agency he loses guys when their free agency huge pay check comes along. What does he does do? Start all over again.

And thats ok... the best And in NFL histoory are "system QBs"

You post this as though it's some bad thing? Many quarterbacks can't run any system and some really good ones can't run a system as good as them... Their called greats because they are great!!!!

I never said it was a bad thing Shane. ;)

I am splitting hairs here, but would Peyton Manning be considered a system QB? Brett Farve? Dan Marino? Aaron Rogers?

Carson Palmer ? Yeah, Palmer is a system guy. If he has to do it on his skills alone, you get the Carson Palmer from his Raider days.

LOL. Every great QB was a product of the system he was in, and the talent he had around him. If they didn't have those things, they wouldn't be great. Brady trolling the internet again.

You could make an argument for Dan Marino against that.

What did the Dolphins have besides Marino ?

I just don't get this. Over 17 years that team has played different systems.

Anyone who watched The Randy Moss years and says that was the same system as the 2004 team with Corey Dillon... or same system as the 2 TE Gronk team in 2014... wasn't really watching, IMO.

Imagine if Brady had played his entire career with the greatest wide receiver of all time.

And man this system QB thing is so ignorant, especially when Montana gets brought into the discussion. Guess you guys haven't heard of the "West coast offense" and Montana literally being the original "system QB."

You say you didn't mean this as a bad thing but the thread title is Brady ADMITS he's a system QB. How is that not negative connotation?

He's played in multiple systems. The dink and dunk style of today is a drastic contrast to the Randy Moss days of bombing it downfield and breaking basically every offensive record int he books.

I dont like the Patriots, my best friend is from Boston so I can say that Patriots fans might be the most annoying of all, lol (said with love) but dude Brady is the freakin GOAT, and if the last superbowl wasn't enough to convince you, I'm afraid you're just a hater letting your personal feelings about Brady cloud your judgement, you know, like I do with Lebron that piece of crap!!! :p
