This is gonna be good. I distinctly remember a couple posters arguing about whether he was roided out prior to the draft. I am thinking it was Russ Smith and Wally but I could be wrong.

I know someone called this, Bobby Carpenter was also mentioned by the poster.

Wow now someone here said that before the draft who was that again?

Cushing was the most obvious user in his draft.

I think Cbus called Carpenter but I know I called Cushing. To be honest it was one of the worst kept secrets in the Pac 10 I think he gained 50 or 60 pounds while he was at USC and not fat, muscle.

Whitner thinks the league should take away Cushing's award

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 7, 2010 7:34 PM ET
One of the best (and some would say worst) parts about Twitter is immediacy.

The moment Brian Cushing's suspension was announced, writers, fans, teammates, and other players around the league had their say.

More than one media member said they've heard rumors about Cushing's use before.

Texans safety Dominique Barber summed up the reaction from Houston: "F*****kkkkkk"

The most interesting comment came from Bills safety Donte Whitner, who reacted angrily. "B. Kushing suspended for sterods! I don't respect guys that CHEAT! . . . They should take his Defensive rookie of the year away!"

It's not a crazy notion. MDS mentioned the "Shawne Merriman rule," which means that Cushing won't be allowed to win any awards or go to the Pro Bowl this year.

But it's fair to deduce based on the timeline of Cushing's failed appeal that performance enhancing drugs helped him in 2009.

In the Olympics, they take away your medal for a failed test. The NFL should do the same.

I recall you saying it with all certainty and I believe Matthews was mentioned also.

He was juicing at USC as well, judging by the pics, he was at the stage where:

1. He didn't yet know you had to work out to get big, and was just taking test.
2. His dealer didn't tell him about arimidex or clomid.

How the scouting department didn't see this coming a country mile away is beyond me.

Everyone knew it's just that so much of the NFL does it they assumed if he didn't fail tests at USC, he probably knew what the was doing to avoid getting caught.

I don't condone what Cushing did but he's far from the only one. His workout buddy at USC was Taylor Mays, USC fans are all saying they think Mays is clean he's just a freak of nature whereas Cushing was obviously a product of modern science. The thing is, 2 years ago they were all saying Cushing was clean too so who knows. Every team in the NFL has players who are doing PED's.

Brian Juicing should be his name now.

Always gotta wonder what a player does going forward after the juice stops. Is it a mix up that he can overcome like Merriman, or was it what defined him like Mandarich.

Didn't Merriman's production taper off dramatically when not on the juice?

You would think I would know, they play about 30 minutes from where I live.

/not a charger fan at all. :D

Least surprising suspension ever.....?

I agree that he should be stripped as well.
