Tempting for sure. Don't know which way to lean. I have to think about it, but I probably would make the trade. Really depends on who is gone already.

All depends on what you do with the extra picks.

Terrell Suggs for Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace comes to mind.

True true.

Either you trust the front office to not screw up on one pick or two. If you don't have faith in them, it doesn't matter either way.

In my opinion we do. First of all we have many many needs and an extra day two pick would help out a lot, even if it means a slightly lesser prospect at the OLB if that's viewed as a priority by the FO of course, which i don't think is the case by the way. Secondly, if Hughes is still there at 26, only two teams that pick behind 26 and before pick 38 might snatch him up (Jets and Chiefs IMO, the rest is either a 4-3 defense or a 3-4 team with bigger holes to fill), but they have other needs also. So there's still a pretty reasonable chance he might still be on the board at 38 also.

Well, in my opinion - we don't. We don't risk the possible loss of a premier pass rusher to the "what if" of a day two pick. We still have enough picks to address other needs in the later rounds.

This is all speculation, of course, but it is to be noted, that sticking your board and picking in your first round slot has become the hallmark of the Cards since the Green days.

After McClain and Weatherspoon you are not taking any other ILB @ 26 IMO.

The only ILB I would take in the first round is McClain. Otherwise I'm looking somewhere else on the defense or O-Line with the 1st rounder or even trading back as suggested.

Teams that need starting QB's:

Browns - So little talent only so many draft picks. Holgrem IIRC is known for being frank and honest. Already said he won't draft Tebow and that he won't draft a QB in the top 2 rds. Potential smoke screen.

Rams - QB is a Screaming need and I doubt they pass on Bradford. If they do then they WTU (will trade up into 1st rd) with some team for Clausen or McCoy.

Bills - Do they take Clausen? If not they could trade back up.

Teams that have huge question marks at QB.

Broncos - HHMMM. Orton, really? Brady Quinn??? If not the Bills then do they nab Clausen?

Raiders - Russel finally shows up in shape for Offseason workouts this year. Doubt they trade to move up in the 1st rd (DTTU).

Redskins - Shanny is a QB guru and Campbell has talent. DTTU.

Vikings - At some point they may draft QBOF. They are very deep team with minimal holes so you never know.

Seahawks - Hassleback has back issues and is 34. QBOF is needed so does Carrol love Clausen or McCoy. Just heard on NFL network that he does love Tebow and says he won't get out of the 1st rd.

49ers - Alex Smith is not horrible but is he really the answer? With 2 picks in rd 1 do the niners take a flyer.

All these teams have okay QB's or youngins who the jury is still out on.

Jaguars
Titans
Dolphins
Panthers
Cards - Only listing this for 82 grad and a couple others. I hope the Cards don't draft any QB's this year and get 2 UFA's for camp.

I hope there is a run on QB in the 1st rd. This will push some great talent down to us at 26 or the potential of trading down and acquiring more picks.

I say we call Dan Snyder if Anthony Davis is on the board. Crazy Al may have interest in Dunlap or Griffin. Both are physical freaks who dont produce. The old fool loves to cause drama and contreversy on draft day.

That DUI would only make Al want Dunlap more. muuhhhaaaaaa
