OT: Chargers tag Sproles

I guess they really do have a lot of faith in Sproles and next to none with LT.

We are going to see the Franchise tag being used more and more every year. Teams just dont see the value in free agency as they once did. By value I mean in terms of quality to pay ratio.

Couldn't agree more with you. Most are way overpaid Build from the draft is the best way.

LT is getting there age wise... he is 29, next year he will be 30. They might pull a Shaun Alexandar on him?

Its good quality to pay becuase he is a known quantity in a known system. Versus a unknown quantity in a brand new system. Free agents bust out more then draft picks do.

What is worth more? A player you know what you will get at 6.6 mill. Or a player you think you will get at 6.6 mill.

You can never really predict how the future will play out, but right now I'd say it was a great move for them and I'm not at all surprised by it. How will this move will effect LDT's future with the team?

Sproles cannot be "the man" and last 16 games. Not in the NFL.

They will need two backs, and will need LT to come back at a reduced rate. If not they will need to draft a back, or get re-tread in FA.

i can see them drafting Wells,doubt if he's there, and cutting LT. That way they still have an everydown RB and Sproles could stay in his current role. No way would i give Sproles 6.6 mill though.
