QB

hey, cut me some slack, dudes :D The Wiki write-up is awful. Anyway, with Alex and Urban Meyer we had an undefeated season. And we also beat 'Bama in the Sugar Bowl. Maybe it wasn't the same year, lol. Point is Smith was a terrific college QB here in Utah.

They did beat Pitt in the 2005 Tostitos Fiesta bowl to go undefeated. 11-0

Going into the game, Utah had been ranked in the Top 10 for 8 consecutive weeks. Pittsburgh was 8–3 and the Big East Conference champion. Utah raced to a 28–0 lead and held on for a convincing 35–7 win. Alex Smith had a magnificent showing, completing 29 of 37 passes for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns, as he went on to impress NFL scouts and became the number 1 overall draft pick. He was also the MWC Offensive Player of the Year, TSN Player of the Year, a Walter Camp finalist, a Davey O'Brien finalist, finished fourth in the Heisman voting, and the Fiesta Bowl MVP

Good for him. Never thought that Smith would amount to a QB with all those god awful head coaches and OC's that he played for.

The ability to throw 10 yard outs gets you paid these days.

If most coaches asked a QB to do what they can do, there would be less employee turnover in the NFL as far as coaching in general goes. The Chiefs aint trying to make a Montana out of Smith, they've just been able to utilize what the vehicle can do. Some coaches come in with a gameplan in mind, others come in and figure out what they can do with what they have. I like Arians.
