For those who didn't watch the game, Clark was okay after being on the ground for a few. McGahee was carted off and got a nice cheer from the crowd. Hope he's doing okay, it sucks when this happens in a game that is more or less over. Best wishes to Willis.

Clark should be suspended. Led with the head, and hit helmet to helmet. Sorry, no SOUPer bowl for you!

He did not lead with the head...........he led with his shoulder. If he led with his head he (Clark) likely wouldve suffered spinal concussion or severe nerve damage in the spinal region. Review the video ....its on nfl.com and espn. Even game announcers stated it was clean and legal and that he led with the shoulder.

I thought the hit was careless and scary, but not intentionally dirty. Helmet-to-helmet hits are rarely intentional, and Clark's biggest fault was he didn't keep his head up. This was a desperation hit. He should still be suspended for his carelessness. That's just sloppy football and that's how people get seriously injured.

Yep, and latest word for McGahee is that he's still in the hospital.

yeah RealGM is saying he'll be there overnight. Doctors say he is intact, talking, and moving. I didn't find anything about if they expect him to fully recover, but i sure hope so.

The league needs to do a little more to protect helmet to helmet hits. From what the commentators were saying, it isn't illegal to hit helmet to helmet on a ball carrier but i'm a little fuzzy on what the actual rule is. I think there has to be some sort of protection from plays like that. Maybe a suspension would be a bit much, but at least a fine or slap on the wrist so players know that stuff won't go unnoticed.

I agree, but what more can you do? The hits are illegal, you can only fine and suspend after these hits. I can't think of anything more they can do outside of playing flag football

If you go back and watch the hit... Clark drops his shoulder and rolls it in to lead with the shoulder. McGahee, just before he sees he is going to be hit, drops his head in preparation for the hit.

The result was the helmets coming into contact first before any other body part.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured. McGahee will be ok, just a REAL sore neck, as reported currently. Clark will be ok too.

No suspension will come from the hit, because it wasn't dirty, illegal, or sloppy, it was simply the speed of the game and two very physical teams playing each other.

Watched it again...dude led with his helmet, and hit with his helmet. Even on the slo mo. He does NOT lead with his shoulder...he leads with the head. Leghee drops feeling it, or it would have got him in the chest...but that is a clear (IMO) lead with the helmet.

If I remember correctly AW had a hit that was not nearly as severe against the ravens of course us being the Cards we were penealized 15 yards at a critical part of the game. The officals said AW launced himself into the receiver.

Since this was a Steeler of course no penalty.

Yeah just thinking if that was AW we would be without him for the SB, its total bias crap in the NFL because he plays for the Steelers it was clean......hell no that was a dirty hit that could have changed the game! The Ravens could and should have had it deep in Pitt territory after the UR call that should have been called. The stupid announcer must have been a Pitt fan because he couldn't stop saying how clean the hit was, what the hell are these guys watching? Dude led with his head into McGahees' head pretty freakin clear surprised Ravens coach wasn't going nuts, probably worried about the player first and foremost.
