Should be noted our GM had a top 5 grade on Byron Murphy.
He had a top 25 grade on Zach Allen.

He also was gong to draft N'Keal Harry at the top of the 2nd round if not for Belicheck going Belicheck with wrs in the draft.

He had Andrew Thomas as his top-ranked tackle.

The Kyler pick felt like a wild swing for the fences that just happened to work out. Keim doesn't identify elite traits well otherwise.

Edit: If not Keim then the guys he hired to scout for the team.
Byron Murphy had a 1st round grade, but Keim got him in the 2nd.

Zach Allen had a 2nd round grade, but Keim got him in the 3rd.

Harry going in the 1st with BB also shows Keim would have been justified taking him in the 2nd. Harry did have a 2nd round grade and Allen Robinson comparison.

Thomas was 4th overall pick and his draft profile pegs him as a day1 starter.

The 4 examples you gave actually show Keim wasn't really far off on his evaluations.

Deebo confirms it's about usage. Said his concern is his lining up in the backfield increased all year and he has reason to believe that will continue, because they're going to start a running Qb. So he wants to be paid with the understanding that his stats will be suppressed(WR stats) and that his career will probably be shortened if he's used as a RB more than as a WR.

Article popped up on my FB. first complaint is a guy I went to HS with, (he's FB friend) "This is hilarious! Let me get this right, MOST, if not ALL WR say “get me the damn ball!” And here we have a WR/RB whining “I don’t want the ball too much?” Wow! Deebo, how blessed do you really need to be? I get the dough piece of this, but come on! It’s a game and you’re an Anomaly! My advise, get paid and play like you’ve been playing. Chances are the Niners will spread the ball once Trey starts. He will be able to get the ball further downfield. Stretching the defense and hitting others!"

The guy played football and had his career cut short by knee injuries and he's bashing Deebo for pointing out if they use him this way going forward, it will shorten his career and it will also limit his ability to get another big contract because they will say you don't have enough TD catches etc. They will use it against him.

It is about usage vs the money. If he gets hurt in that role, RB's make half of what WRs make in the open market. RBs get hurt much more frequently.

They want to use him as a WR/RB clone, and pay him somewhere in between. He wants to be paid 20M a year. If Kirk can get 17, I don't see why Deebo shouldn't be worth 20. If they pay Deebo 20M this year, he will play that role and not care.

Yeah that's what I mean. they want to base his contract on the idea that his WR stats are lower(TD catches) than other guys. Even though he has 1400 yards and 8 rushing TD's, they want to focus on the receiving TD's. He also wants more because he knows if he is used this way going forward, he will have a shorter career.

Ex USC player Sua Cravens chimed in online and said anybody questioning Deebo is wrong, if you know anything about football you know "tough" players are the ones who have short careers from all the pounding. He compared Deebo to Percy Harvin and said it was a miracle Harvin lasted as long as he did but that was largely because early in his career his team ignored all his concussions.

So apparently Samuel was on some live feed that's his moms and while on it he was talking to AJ Brown on the phone. he and Brown and DK Metcalf all have the same agent. He was on the phone talking about how the Titans offered Brown 20 million a year, admitted to him they think he can get more on the open market but aren't willing to pay him more because of their offense(run based) and now Brown is saying he won't report to voluntary workouts and he's been added to the list of WR's that might be on the trading block.

Pretty crazy you have Samuel, Brown, Metcalf and McLaurin all in their prime years all apparently somewhat available. You would assume Metcalf and Samuel are off limits to us since division rival, but I'd be very interested in knowing what McLaurin or Brown have as a trade value if they're still in limbo after the draft and we don't get a top WR in the draft.

I am wondering if the cap is FINALLY starting to influence moves. I mean, how can you pay a QB 50 mil a year and afford other decent players??

All my life I have been reading stories of players getting killed for making mistakes in games. That's just nuts!! Just this week, Harry McGuire on Manchester United had bomb threats phoned in to his house he lives in with his wife and kids. **** like this goes on all the time in the Premier League. Marcus Rashford got death threats for missing a goal on a penalty kick. He was continuously bothered so much about it, his play has been off all season. I always wanted to go see a Man U game at Old Trafford, but not so much now.

Soccer fans are by far the worst. They throw bananas at black players when they're taking corner kicks and are very well known to shout racial slurs in unison. European soccer fans are straight savage. It's insane.

If you want savage soccer fans, look at what's happened in Mexico recently. They have also had to play behind closed door matches because of homophobic chanting.

I remember reading once, a guy in Columbia made a bad play that cost his team a key game. He hid for his life for 1-2 weeks. Finally, guys found him and coaxed him out of hiding that all was forgiven. They took him to a bar, gave him drinks, treated him like he was forgiven, and then took him outside the bar and killed him.

Thanks! I thought it was a national team game, but I couldn't remember for sure. It's not worth a guy's life. Geez.

Good thing AJ Green is not a Colombian soccer player.
