Valid points but they were a good team last year too, of course also without Rose.

Add Dragic and they can make some noise again.

Frye would play alongside of either Taj Gibson or Noah, both are able to cover Frye's defensive shortcomings.

With this deal they would save about 7 mil. this year since they are already over the luxury tax.

ESPN speculating Bulls would build a deal around Hinrich, filler and picks.

They don't really have a filler (except Mike James) and this kind of deal would put them even deeper into luxury tax.

Besides they need Hinrich too as a backup.

I really doubt that they take a deal like tkat.

The only appeal to having Hinrich on the Suns would be listening to Steve Albert discover the "Hinrich Maneuver" pun for the first time. He'd be so proud of himself.

Just like he was when he giggled after asking Ann if Dionte had a sister named Mary.

Yes, a joke he made about 500 times.

However, I confess I was amused when, after a big shot by Gerald Green, Albert said with mock profundity, "Green is the new orange."

Hmmm, I wonder if he said "Brown is the new orange" last year when Shannon was on a roll? Maybe not but I do expect more "Green" puns from him as time moves on. Probably something like "Green is money" or "you can take that Green to the bank". Fortunately for me, I don't find him quite as annoying this year. In large part because I usually watch the other team's telecast but also because he seems to have become more comfortable with the pace of the game.

And using it every time Hinrich gets the ball in his hands. If Steve is able to concentrate on what is going on down on the court, that is. :)

Not sure whats worse. Albert's bad jokes or Leander's desperate attempts to be hip, "You have been Youtube'd!"

I'd take Leander. At least he is able to describe game details correctly.

Thats true. And he did have a good rapport with Eddie Johnson. A couple of years ago I felt like almost anyone would be an upgrade over Leander's schtick but the Suns did a sound job of proving me wrong.

I'd think they're aware of the issue too... I mean... how could they not be? I wouldnt be surprised to see the Albert experiment end this summer. If Leander would just ease up on the awful catchphrases he wouldnt be bad at all.

What we really need is Gary Bender to unretire. Loved that guy.

I wonder if the two people who have to work alongside Albert for two hours every game -- Eddie Johnson and Ann Meyers Drysdale -- have any input. It is obvious they're aware that Steve Albert is just not a polished announcer.

Despite Marv's personal problems, Steve is no Marv. Or Al, for that matter. He is the runt of the Albert announcing litter. Is Phoenix that hard up for a "name"?

That surprises me.

Leander may not have a great play by play voice and he does try too hard for catch phrases but he is far better at providing accurate and detailed information about what is happening on the court. You could tell he put a lot more effort into being prepared than Bender or Albert who frequently get calls wrong and have to wait until the PA announces the correct call before they correct themselves.

I really wish the Suns could hire Dave Pasch. I think he's the best play by play guy around and Leander could easily sub the few games a year where he has other commitments.

Bledsoe came back from Meniscus surgery within the season. There is still 2 months until the playoffs start. He could probably sit out round 1 also or play sparingly in it. I wonder what the Bulls would ask in return for him. If it were before the deadline I think they'd have traded him for IT & Ennis, a proven starter and good rookie to develop behind him. I'm not sure how long he has left on his deal but it might be worth the risk with our training staff and a chip on his shoulder for being dealt for pennies on the dollar.

Regardless I can't see him getting another big money contract in his career. He's missed 2 seasons with knee injuries followed by only making it half a season. I'm curious how his team will view it if he does sit out the rest of the year, including playoffs, after he blasted the team earlier in the season for not playing hard or giving 100%.

After his comments earlier this year about choosing to sit out even though he was healthy enough to play I can't see anyone chasing him too hard in the future. Also, Bledsoe's injury was a very small tear and Rose is well past that point I believe.

Just kind of thinking out loud about a Butler for Bledsoe s&t in the off-season. Chicago gets a pgof, and the Suns get a sgof. Just a thought.

The Suns could then go sign a max FA forward.

That sucks. Guy is one of the true superstars in a league with too few of them. If its torn I doubt he will ever return to his previous form. I cant recall a player having blown both of them and ever being the same again.

Not only is he a true superstar but he's a class act as well. I really feel for him. I hope he can return.

I think Butler is their new face of the franchise, I doubt they move him.

Good PGs are a dime a dozen, good SGs who are very good on both ends of the court are not.

Yup, we are already ready to match a max offer for him. The best thing about him is that every offseason he had work to get other parts of his game better. He will only continue to get better the next couple of season.
