The most damning find is on page 40-41. I understand that NFL locker rooms are different from your average work place but this really seems to go too far.
Incognito told us that he and other offensive linemen routinely speculated, albeit in jest, about which of their teammates would “break first” in response to taunting, and notations in the fine book substantiate this. One lineman, Nate Garner, was subjected to so much derision that a joke developed that Garner, who owned several guns, might “break” by coming to the Dolphins facility and shooting everyone. On September 30, 2013, for example, Incognito wrote a text message to a former teammate in which he stated: “Nate is on the verge of killing us all.” When asked to elaborate, Incognito explained: “Since we cut [another player] we have been non stop on nate. Even turner is in on it. He looks like he’s about to cry 24/7.”
In the hours after Martin left the Dolphins, Incognito recorded in the fine book a $200 penalty against himself for “breaking Jmart,” awarded Garner a $250 bonus for “not cracking first,” and wrote down the following fines for Martin: 100 ***** 100 ***** 100 ***** 100 ***** 1,000,000.00 *****
Incognito acknowledged that the entries in question all relate to Martin’s decision to leave the team. At first Incognito claimed that he did not know why he had been fined for “breaking J mart,” but upon being told that the notations appeared to be in his handwriting, Incognito did not dispute that “breaking Jmart” meant causing Martin to have an emotional reaction in response to taunting
Then he tried to cover it up. He obviously knew it could get him into trouble.

On November 3,2013, Incognito wrote nearly identical text messages to both Pouncey and Garner: “They’re going to suspend me Please destroy the fine book first thing in the morning.

Wow they kept ledgers and fined each other for being too mean, and Richie tried to get teammates to destroy evidence. Wow.

Meanwhile Incognito has been running his mouth on twitter about this report on the eve of it being released saying it would bury Martin... I wonder what that is all about. I know Incognito also said Martin talked about killing himself early last year during spring/draft/OTA's or something.

That was my opinion. I actually didn't read the whole thing but considering Incognito wanted it destroyed shows it was pretty damning evidence against him.

What more do you want? The issue is harassment that is detrimental, not only to the team and it's performance, but also to the image the NFL is trying to maintain. You would also think that coaches should get reprimanded as well, not just Incognito.

If anything, this should help make Branden Albert's decision easier... "hmmm, which team would I rather go play for, Miami or Arizona?"

I think the OL coach Jim Turner is probably going to be fired for this. He was involved in the taunting of the player referred to as player A for being gay.

Turner was aware of the running “joke” that Player A was gay, and on at least one occasion, he participated in the taunting. Around Christmas 2012, Coach Turner gave the offensive linemen gift bags that included a variety of stocking stuffers. The gifts included inflatable female dolls for all of the offensive linemen except Player A, who received a male “blow-up” doll. [Jonathan] Martin and another player reported that they were surprised Coach Turner did this; Martin further said that he was offended that Turner had endorsed the humiliating treatment of Player A by participating in it. Incognito and others agreed that this incident with Coach Turner occurred. When interviewed, Turner was asked if he gave Player A a male blow-up doll. He replied, “I can't remember.”

Incog is what he always was, a crazy testosterone beef head that should keep his pie hole shut. Jonathan Martin on the other hand, isn't a good enough player to be strung with all this drama, might be selling cars soon. If I was Incog, I might seek legal action against ESPN.

man...is Incognito just a complete and utter moron and just someone leaving in SERIOUSLY deep denial. As bad as he looked during this entire thing, he just made himself look even worse with his "truth will bury you" stuff...right before the truth came out and buried him even more.

Destroying evidence is damning in my book.

But by no means is Martin the totally innocent in being part of his own demise either. He played the same game back & forth with Cognito & others before crying wolf IMO. BOTH of these guys helped ruin each other in this case as well as coaches & many other players in the Fins.

Nothing really new. Pretty much what I would have expected.

Vulgar, uncouth, loudmouth bully picked on a more sensitive individual who couldn't take it and shouldn't have HAD to take it anyway.

"Dysfunctional" franchise no longer belongs solely to the Raiders. The entire coaching staff and front office should have been fired at seasons end. At least IMO

Incognito has proven to be a jerk.My question is will the league have the balls to also punish Pouncey and Jerry the other 2 Dolphin linemen who where Richies followers and partners in crime?

Exactly Martin is far from innocent here. Martin tried to play along when he should of stood up for himself. The phone calls and texts to his mom crying about how come they didn't make him tougher is just pathetic. Dude man up.

People will get away with whatever you let them get away with

That's somewhat like telling a depressed person to just stop being depressed. When you're dealing with mental health issues, you can't tell somebody to just "man up", it doesn't work that way.

I hear what you're saying but to think Incognito is the cause of his "mental issues" isn't or hasn't been proven IMO...maybe he had issues before. Martin had a choice to blow the whistle & disagree with how he was being treated early, but he played the same game with Richie for a couple of years before crying wolf! An alcoholic still has a choice whether to get in a car & then DUI & kill someone too.

Both guys have a part in this fiasco & believing anything else is naive IMO. If Martins mental issues were soooo severe there's no way he would be able to play NFL football. Just my 2 cents :p

I'm not saying that Martin's mental issue were caused by Incognito but they were certainly not helped by them. Maybe Martin's mental state isn't good enough for the NFL or maybe he would be better off and would perform better in a different locker room. Maybe there are some guys who perform better when veterans try to get them to a state where they look like they are about to cry 24/7 and for others, maybe not.

This guy was a top prospect in high school and at Stanford he's gone through the whole NFL combine and whole interviewing process. This guy has never had any "mental issues" come up.

It seems to me a guy just not being able to cope with not living up to expectations and not responding well to pressure.

Was Incognito wrong? Absofreakinglutely
I still believe Martin's willingness to play the same game with Richie & other teammates for nearly 2 years as an excuse to mask his own demons somewhat. I'm sure there's more to the story that's not in texts or records.

I've read through all of the texts that were sent between them, and if that is enough to allow you to walk out of your job and still get paid and get someone fired, man I could get a lot of my friends fired. There had to be something else going on that wasn't really discussed, but I find it hard to believe that it was just the bullying that caused all of this. Maybe it was the straw that broke the camels back...but there was nothing that should have ended two players seasons. I played against Incognito in HS, and absolutely hate the person...but even here I can't see him being the sole reason for causing Martin to have his breakdown, as much as I would want to blame him completely.

'Go along to get along' seems to be in play here. The bullied trying go ingratiate themselves with the bully is part of the pattern until anger sets in and one simply can't take it anymore. Well known pattern of behaviour in male private schools over here.
