Sad, may he Rest In Peace. I actually appreciated the JoeMontana and Bill Walsh led 49ers of way back when. When he made “The Catch” against the Cowboys, it was amazing.

For a lot of years, San Fran was my "play-off" team. Montana & Young were both classy guys that were easy to like/follow.

Couldn't do it now with them in our division. Seattle & San Francisco have replaced my hatred for Dallas & DC.

ALS sux. I was very surprised to see this news last night. Condolences to his family and friends.

I grew up in the bay area during the hay days of the 49ers. "The Catch" was so iconic up there as it really was the start of the Niners run in the 80s. I was the black sheep of the family as wasn't much of a Niners fan but always respected the great players like Clark. He will be missed.

My Coworker was recently diagnosed with ALS. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he has much more time with us as well.

I've been haunted by ALS ever since my mom died from it in the the early 1950's & her brother shortly after. More recently we lost my wife's cousin to ALS and also another family member (by marriage).

Needless to say, a lot of our time has been spent racking our brains about possible cause/prognosis without much success. (Best we can come up with is that it might be triggered in genetically prone people by environmental inputs (i.e. exposure to chemicals, virus, other pollutants etc.)

Seems, though, as if (Hawkings notwithstanding) the survival rate has become shorter & shorter).

Working in the prison infirmity, I've seen all manner of death come through and none is worse than watching someone die from ALS.
