Tom Brady is 40, is it time for him to retire too? Brees is 38. Josh McCown is 38. Palmer is going to be 38. Age is meaningless if you're still productive and popular sentiment aside, he's still productive.
Don't get me wrong... Eli was a very good quarterback. But that's the key word... was. I don't think he's ever been as elite as his brother was, or as good as Brees has been under Sean Payton. The quarterbacks playing at this age are the anomaly, not the rule. His brother made it to 39 and barely so. McCown isn't a star, Palmer should retire, and Brees is on an offense suddenly predicated by the running game.
Tom Brady is possibly the greatest quarterback of all time. We shouldn't bring a guy in whose production has been completely lost without Odell Beckham Jr., not when we're on the the precipice of revamping this team. We need to get younger, not older.
