I was absolutely starved for some Cards news. I was driving home today around 4:30 and only Gambo and Ash weren't in commercial. They have to be the worst thing on the radio.

First it was the bad jokes. Not funny. Just boring. I felt myself drifting off. Then it was the usual Gambo and Ash. They started talking baseball and it was "Hey the Yankees traded for a similar guy two years ago. What was his name? I can almost remember the trade...." In my half an hour drive they did that three times. One asked the other some fairly recent question about sports, and neither could remember the answer. I remember thinking, "These guys get paid to do this?"

Awful. Bottom of the barrel bad. It was like a converstaion with a guy that wanted to talk sports with you, but hadn't watched any sports in year. Like a guy playing for a laugh that didn't have a sense of humor.

The worst. Sometimes Colin Cowherd gets on my nerves in the morning, but they have nothing on these two. "Calling all sports" is shakespeare next these two guys.

Does anyone actually like these guys? Awful. Just awful.

Well, MLB is in the home stretch and the deadline was today so you can't blame them for talking bball. They talked about the Cards plenty their first couple hours on and had Bickley and MJ on at 5:30 for training camp updates (who looked good in the 1st day of TC, Leinart negotiations). I'm sure tommorrow there will be more Cards talk and I don't blame them one bit for talking baseball today.... The MLB trade deadline has dominated national sports news, not just PHX sports talk

All they do is talk for five minutes then commercial for five minutes. It's brutal the commercials have GOT to equal the talk time by the end of the show. Also, all they do is promote their sponsors to get freebies, as if we don't get enough of the damn sponsors in the commercials we have to hear about them once a week all show long when they are on site! The worst part about it is that the other stations are WORSE! Who the hell does bob kemp think he is? That guy has something seriously wrong with him. I miss Tony Femino! Plus now that Phil Hendrie quit doing his show the dirve home is brutal.

I totally agree. They never get their facts right and I'm tired of hearing Gambo talking about "his sources". I think the only reason they are on is because they bring in the sponsors. They're terrible.

Not to mention that sports come in second place to the preferred topics of how Gambo wants to cheat on his wife all the time and how Ash is married to a Cardinal's cheerleader; but fails to mention that she looks like a boy.

The commercials are excruciating. 910 and 1060 are why people make the switch to satellite radio...

Not to mention Gambos inability to speak english, heck it's worser (You see) than my typing and spelling. He could go back to NY and I would never miss him.

they are the best local radio unfortunately. and im pretty sure their commercials/plugs take up more time than actual talking about sports. thank god for colin cowherd and jim rome. they make listening to the radio actually enjoyable.

anyone else think radio should just get rid of player interviews all together? 95% of them just go through the motions and give generic answers every time. they can keep the analysts and journalists though. those are usally decent.

Me too! In fact, just today I reported that the Cardinals had signed free agent Paris Hilton to play center. :D

Hmmm, a job where she bends over and has men's hands under her butt....yeah I could see where she'd make the cut for that

If they would just cut out all the crap about their personal lives, they wouldn’t be too bad. I don’t understand why they think we’re interested in their unhappy marriages or their favorite songs.

I don’t depend on them for information, the internet is much more efficient, but I enjoy their sports discussions and their interviews with guys like Tim Legler.

I like Gambo and Ash. I think they are funny and Asher is a true Cardinals fan. I sat behind him 3 rows at Sun Devil Stadium when I had season tickets there.

They are much more positive than Bob Kemp.

Yes, they play too many commercials but they are the best sports radio show in the Valley during the afternoons.

Maybe its just a matter of taste. I love kemp. Think he's far and away the best on the dial. But he's an encyclopedia of sports knowledge. I love that he seems to have 20 active topics and that he can bounce back and forth at will.

Is Kemp negative? Sure. But when he's negative, he's usually right. I remember hearing him go on ad naseum about the Card RBs last year. About how Arrington would be a bust, and the lack of a productive RB would hurt the team. I disagree loudly with him, swearing up and down that Arrington would take over and become a star. I was not in the right on that one. I just think Kemps a realist. He admittedly is much higher that the Cards this year, than in any year in the past.

Gambo and Ash? Polar opposites. Positive? I guess so. A million miles from an "encyclopdia of sports knowledge" though. On a daily basis, one will say: Which team won the division last year? Where did that free agent end up? The other then struggles for an answer. Either that or they report news I read on the internet three days ago as if it just recently happened.

Then they go into their schtick. Talking about wives, goofs, someone's birthday. Maybe if I was entertained I'd dig it, but I'm not.

I'll take Kemp (and his negativism) over Gambo and Ash (and Bickley and MJ) eight days a week.

Yeah, me too. However, I can’t pick up 1060 in my office. I would take Kemp over all of these guys. He gives his opinion, backed up by facts, and then lets everyone give theirs. If you don’t have your stuff straight, he’s going to call you out. There’s nothing wrong with that. If you think he’s too negative, then call him and state your case. He will listen and then respond. If it’s a good case, he will likely acknowledge it.

I’ve been hearing about Mrs. Gambo for years now. I shouldn’t know as much as I do about these guy’s personal lives. However, it’s the only show that I can get in my office.

Looking at this in a completely unbiased view, Kemp is the type of guy who you really don't have much middle ground with. You either love his up front style or you despise it.

Truthfully, I like both the Xtra Crew and Bob's show, and driving home from working, I see myself shifting between each show.
