Holy crap histrionics. Sure it was a dirty hit, but I've seen the Rams do dirtier hits almost every year.
The hit on Warner by the Saints was way dirtier.
I see people can't read, either. Never said dirtiest hit ever, but this year. So stop bringing up stuff from prior years.
^^^^I think I know why...
No hate - I have always liked Gronk! But not only did he drop an elbow on the back of a defenseless guy's head long after the play was over - he used his hard elbow brace. Incredibly uncool and my opinion of Gronk has now gone way, way down.People are blinded by their hate. That gif of ODB on Norman is 10x dirtier.

If this was done on the street, Gronk would be in jail. Instead, he gets suspended one game against the Dolphins.
This is worse than the allegations against Elliot. Should be minimum 6 games for this.
Now he is appealing the suspension.smdh
I'm trying to figure out what was wrong with the hit on Burfict. Sure standing over him was bush league but the hit looked clean to me.I think the league just doesn't know how to deal with this stuff
The problems with this play are:
The guy ended up concussed, which only adds injury to the above.
- Well after the whistle
- Defenseless player
- Target not engaged in any football activity / anticipating any hit or target
- A deliberate effort to land a hard cheap shot
- Delivering a blow directly to the back of the head
That play was a lot worse than the hit on Burfict last night.
Is wasn't as bad as Bertuzzi in the NHL, but was on that same plane
The thing is, what is he appealing? That the hit wasn't dirty or that he shouldn't have been suspended?Standard protocol. 95% of suspensions/fines are appealed. Of those 95%, about 99% are denied.

That’s not entirely true. Maybe recently the appeals get denied, but historically they appeal and get the suspension reduced in games. Obviously you can’t reduce a 1 game suspension. Maybe tell him he can’t play the first half lolStandard protocol. 95% of suspensions/fines are appealed. Of those 95%, about 99% are denied.

For the record, Gronk's hit wasn't only dirty, it was a punk move and he deserves more than one game. And we'll know how NE gets preferential treatment if Smith-Schuster gets a bigger suspension even though his hit wasn't dirty(standing over him certainly was uncalled for). And WTH is he appealing? It was a blatant dirty hit. I just didn't agree that the hit was worse than domestic violence.

This hit was worse:
