I am going to assume that as long as the ball doesn't go past the line of scrimmage this is OK?

Because I thought a forward kick cannot be advanced, and is downed at the point where the team kicking touches it.

Cool play, regardless of my ignorance of the rules here.

In fact in the article it says he receives the long snap then flips it to the receiver

Why did #9 give up on the play and not try to at least block the kick. If he went in to block it, he would have distributed the pass or sure.

The question I have is why is the ball not dead? I mean the holder is on his knees, which is down under the college football rules. I get that he is not down as the holder, but at that point he takes more of the QBs role.
That's a great question.
