Whoo indeed.
If Stanzi develops like Tate never really did he could be quite nice (but scares me McCown style right now).

Kirk Ferentz is the BEST coach in college football. These aren't highly toted recruits. There's a lot of 'local' in there and he makes them players.

Ferentz isn't the best coach in college football. And Iowa is a blast, went out there for the UofA game and had a great time even with the outcome.

I, a huge Penn State fan, am actively campaigning for the Hawkeyes to reach the title game. Why? For the honor of the Big Ten, my friends...for the honor of the Big Ten! Oh, and because we're essentially two games behind them anyway :)

if they can score 10 piints in Columbus they'll win. I can't even watch what OSU calls it when they have the ball because it sure isn't offense. It's offensive, just not offense. Tressel's quote last week: the number one job of the offense is to not put the defense in a bad situation. Who the *&%$#@%^#%* thinks like that? I thought the job of the offense was to maybe put a score on the board. 4th and goal at the 1 down 26-7 in the 4th quarter and he kicks a FG :bang: . If i was a high school player on the offensive side of the ball, the first school i would cross off my list is OSU. It's amazing how bad they are and they have some talent. The bad thing is is Tressel is probaby as entrenched with security as any HC in the country. Why,oh why, couldn't the Browns have hired him a few years ago.

Hey! STOUT....

ALWAYS appreciate your comments and passion for the Cards. ...And now for the IOWA-props. I'm actually a Hawkeyes fan because of my dad. He grew up there and I started following IOWA years ago as a way to "bond" with him. Now-a-days I follow them alot closer than even he does. LOL Anyways, I'm still surprised they beat Penn State as I consider them a quality team/program. I think it's about match-ups/schemes and for some reason IOWA has their # right now. I think Ferentz' staff & Joe Pa's have each been there like FOREVER so they pretty much know what to expect from the other. Anyways, alot of football left to be played. BUT if IOWA doesn't get to the Rose Bowl, rest assurred, like you, I'll be pulling for the BIG 10 reprentative!

Who's your candidate? I again submit that no coach does more with less.

Let's see.... The most obvious is Urban Meyer. Gators have a 16 game win streak playing in the hardest conference in football. 2 Championships in 3 years... Possibly a 3rd this year. Next Nick Saban taking Alabama to the next level far ahead of schedule. Again SEC. Iowa is a good story But coach of the year? No. I would probably even take the Boise St or the Cinncinati Coach ahead of Iowa's. I am not saying he is not a great coach. But not the best..

FLA and ALA have built-in recruiting. Even though both coaches are great a lesser coach can still succeed with those squads (just perhaps not to that very same level).

I'd say Boise and Cinci are better candidates as they struggle to get "key" recruits like the big schools do.

Iowa's performance has helped my Cats get a little beef in the BCS poll, I hope they keep winning.

Quality losses are crap. Its a loss and this isnt your basketball program that schedules teams they know damn well they cant beat just to get a higher SOS and get into the tourny after being swept by your daddy. Yea I said your daddy!!!!

Dude, Iowa OWNS Penn State. We've lost something like 7 straight to the Hawkeyes. Yikes!

Brian Kelley of Cincinnati is the best up and coming coach. Somebody will snatch him up after this year, are you listening Ohio State ? If i had to pick my coach of the year so far, it would either be Kelley, Jim Harbaugh or Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian took over a horrible team and has them playing very well. He's going to be a good one. I don't think Harbaugh has a whole lot to work with out in Stanford either. I think those 3 have done the best jobs when you facotr in the talent level. I bet you can't guess who i think is the most under-achieving coach this year. here's a hint:
