This is a repugnant post. It's one thing for someone to toke a bit or party a bit, but it's quite a different thing for someone to immerse himself in drugs and beat his girlfriend, trash places, drive under the influence, etc. How can you possibly come to this mouth breather's defense? 20 somethings who do a ton of drugs (let's not minimize here) VERY RARELY grow up to be fine men; 20 somethings who go this deep down the rabbit hole USUALLY die young.

The bolded is a little over the top imo. He's basically saying Manziel is still immature which he is. He was addressing his partying not the domestic violence bs which is a different subject altogether. You combined the both. Nowhere in his post did he mention DV & that it was just his partying that related to 20 somethings. But I don't know anything so you may be right.

I'll stick with repugnant, thanks. His post was entirely dismissive of drug problems as a whole, and sought to wipe JM's problems under the rug with a broad, sweeping broom of forgiveness and 'oh, kids'. No, sorry, I'm sticking with repugnant.

Or.... he just likes to party. Some of us have done stupid crap like this in our youth and have come out just fine. Sure, he's a high profile athlete, who tanked his career for a good party. He aint the first nor will he be the last.

20 somethings who do drugs oftentimes grow up to be fine men. His problem is he has to do it under the spotlight, with a bunch of armchair quarterbacks telling him he's a loser.
Yes....its called drug addiction.

Repugnant sounded just right to me.....or ignorant would have worked too. Ignorant of what addiction is.

That being said, the story of manziel is just a sad one. He clearly is DEEP in his addiction and I don't see him pulling out of it.
This was sent from my cell pjone so please excise any typeos or other errors.

I don't think anything this kid does is worthy of being on the football board. He has been a huge waste of time.

Repugnant was used to describe the posters defense of Johnny Asshat.

And seems fitting to me.
This isn't some naive kid who made a mistake or two, Manziel is an arrogant, self absorbed idiot who beats women, and truly believes he has done nothing wrong.

I suspect he would be every bit the same douchebag, even if he never dabbled with drugs or alcohol.
He's convinced that his God given athletic ability alone.... Should give him carte blanch to act however he likes..."I'm Johnny Football!.....I don't have any problems, it's everyone around me, that can't comprehend my awesomeness who has the problem."

Yep, but the problem is us not him, we love sports to the point where we and others like us entitled him where he isn't accountable to anyone. JMO he is a drugged up idiot, but we created this atmosphere where if you can play a sport you are never held to a standard

Its more of him growing up with out responsibility. He was a golden boy. If he did something wrong anywhere, it could have been fixed by his well know, rich parents in his town/city. He probably did alot of things that could get anyone in trouble but he wasn't due to his name. If a person grows up like that, they will never learn the difference.

Sad, but he is a grown man now that should now what he is doing wrong in his life, but doesn't seem to care. Oh well, he made his bed, now he needs to lie in it.

Repugnant was used in describing the post not the idiot that is JM. My argument was that the post wasn't repugnant in what it was saying. I wholeheartedly agree that JM is repugnant.

Ummm....read my post again.

I'll let Stout speak for himself, but as I said.....I'm pretty sure the word "repugnant" was used to describe the posters attempt to justify Johnny Douchebags actions.

We ALL know that the behavior Johnny "Football" displays is repugnant.

Let's put this in perspective, since this is a football forum for a professional football team... John Skelton and Derek Anderson are better NFL players than Johnny Manziel :)

Repugnant? Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

Im not defending him. Im admonishing a bunch of holier than thou, tub thumping internet trolls who have nothing better to do than watch dudes crash and burn, and mete out whatever kind of WiFi enabled judgement they see fit.

Get a life.

He is a loser. He's an NFL QB who has to live his life at a different standard than most and is under a spotlight. He's throwing it away so he can do drugs, drink, and party. If he's not dead in 5-10 years he's going to look back at all of this with regret.

This is a fair look toward the future. I doubt he dies. But I do believe at some point he's going to regret leaving so much on the table so he could party now.
