I got it last night and play once before bed.

Set up the franchise after work today. Pro is a little too easy so I kicked it up to all-pro. I am able to move the ball pretty easily with the Cards offense.

My brother came over and set up a franchise as well. The Rams. I kicked his ass in Game 1 but he is getting better.

Yeah, though I'm loathe to do so, I think I'm going to have to adjust the sliders somehow. I played the Rams on All-Pro last night (5 minute quarters). At home, the Cards won 9-0. McCown threw for something like 60% and a pick. Raynoch Thompson was the player of the game with an interception.

That just didn't feel right. I'm going to play my next game on All-Madden, but I'm thinking I'll have to adjust the sliders on All-Pro, though. The running-game felt really good.

The thing about Madden '05 is that the game play is so unbelieveably smooth. Just incredible.

Also, in my Rams game last night, Josh McCown was the leading rusher. Marcel is so getting replaced in my next draft.

I'm in season 3 now. I the past 2 drafts I came away with some nasty (for the older guys, that means good ;) ) players. I have a QB with a speed rating of something like 93 (although his pass acc. and arm strength are terrible). Also, he has a completly side armed throw, it's kinda cool. I have new guards at both positions (although wells is more than capable of starting now, his rating is around 80, so I may trade him). A new RT from last years draft (sorry Clement, you suck), and a scary good CB who has a speed rating of 98. Also, Shipp is gone, and I now use Westbrook from Philly. Stole him as a RFA. Lee Suggs is my backup.

Word to the wise, If you like playing with McCown and don't want to lose him, give him the highest possible tender offer, or someone will take him from you when he is a RFA. I lost him and was compensated with a 1st and 3rd.

Season 3 already?

Have you played non-stop since you got the game?

I have played one preseason game. I'm such a Madden slacker.

(hangs head in shame)

I/m not sure I like the game play. It seems a little weird somehow. Maybe I just need to get used to it. I wish I could combine elements of this game with the ESPN game. The charge and R trigger to scramble w/ the QB in ESPN are elements I would like to see in Madden.

I have no idea how he got that far, either. That's some serious gaming. I just got my rosters set up last night, and am still experimenting with the difficulty.

You can change the mapping of the keys on your controller in Madden to match what you're used to in ESPN. The QB scrambling takes some getting used to; even I'm confused sometimes about whether I'm pump-faking or pulling down the ball.

That was my first thought. I don't know how else you could get so far so fast unless that is all he has done for the past 2 or 3 days. :)

I told my wife to try it out today. she knows nothing about football.

Anyway she did the Football 101 and now is hooked.

Maybe this will finally get her into football .

I looked for the RB direction flip in ESPN today and could not find it. I had used the flip play audible before but that will also flip the TE/FL as well. I can push the joystick down but have not found a combo that works yet. If you find it let me know. Thanks again on the info on the multiple hot routes.

On Xbox press "Y" to bring up the audible menu. Then click the right-stick down to reverse the direction of the run as well as cause your offensive linemen to block in the opposite direction. This will keep the TE/WR's in their orginal position.

More in-depth manuals.

Have fun!

Yea, I have been up until at least 6:00 am every night since I got the game. I did simulate the first season, cause you know, I had to have a draft and put my stamp on the team with some hand picked players. ;)

I have been busy so I am almost finished with pre-season. I wish you could have boosted a players speed in training camp.

Depends. I have nfl2k5 on Playstation 2, but Madden 2005 on PC. Nothing is better than playing in resolutions of 1600x1200 or 1920x1200. Makes the TV look like it was invented in the '50s. Oh wait, it was . . .

Madden isnt out on the PC yet....

I really dig Madden's franchise mode. I even traded ESPN in for Madden. BIG MISTAKE. Playing Madden after 3 solid weeks of ESPN is like watching paint dry. The franchise mode is amazing, but I dont think I've ever played a more "boring" game of football.

Needless to say I traded Madden back in for ESPN and im loving every second of it!

I am also underwhelmed by Madden 2005 so far.

Maddens player movements are so much simpler. The ESPN game has guys falling forward getting pushed sideways etc. Madden seems to have the guys fall right where they are hit. It is more like watching a cartoon. ESPN looks more like a football game.
