I guess if we are simply talking about this season, I'd take Lebron as well. In a couple of seasons I would probably choose Leonard.

Leonard, he can shut down LeBron and you don't need to run your entire game through Leonard.

Up until last year, having Lebron on your team meant an automatic invite to the finals for the better part of a decade. Gimme that guy.

I don't get your response. You say "up until last year", but the question is "right now".

I'm saying give me the guy that carried his team to the Finals 7 out of the last 8 years.
He did that because he was in a weak eastern conference. Doubt he would have continued to do that this year or last.

You’re right. He still did it. No one else has down that in decades.
Obviously he still did and having that level of consistency is great. Doesn't change the fact that he played in an utterly useless conference for most of that stretch.

Just this year? I’d take LeBron. I think this suns team with LeBron would be better than this suns team with Leonard.

Lebron... George is having a better year than Kawhi so far.

Btw who was trying to argue with me that Lebron and AD wouldn’t be a good fit? Lol...

Thankfully, I don't have to play the would you rather game at all. LBJ is on my team. As much as I despised him for his cockiness coming into the league, The Decision, etc. I have to give him credit - the guy is a workhorse.

I'd take Kawhi. I don't care how many finals Lebron had been to consecutively or that Kawhi requires a bit more rest during the season. When Kawhi is healthy, he wins championships. His window will be open longer than Lebron's also since he's just 28. I think we'll see a West that goes through Kawhi for the next few years and he'll build a legacy that will rival Lebron's. Lebron is nearing the end now. He showed signs of his age last season and I think that's ignored in the resting debate. Lebron basically mailed in a season vs Kawhi taking a few games to be ready for the playoffs and he was ready, having lead Toronto to a title.

Lebron has the benefit of having more of a legacy because he's older but Kawhi is building his legacy still and if he can win a title in LA then that will be the 3rd team he wins with. I know Lebron can also win a title with his 3rd team but is he really the best player on the Lakers? I'd say the Lakers will go as far as Anthony Davis can take them, or as far as Lebron can push Davis.

If we were talking about a player to pair with Anthony Davis or even if we were talking about a star to come in and help Booker and Ayton to the next level, I'd take Lebron. If we're talking about a player to be the leader and build the team around for the next 4-5 years then it's Kawhi.

If the Lakers called the Clippers and offered Lebron for Kawhi, the Clippers would decline. If the Clippers called the Lakers and offered Kawhi for Lebron, the Lakers would need to think long and hard about it. I think they would probably do that also. It would be harder for the Lakers to decline that offer than the Clippers.

Uh... yeah, LeBron mailed in a season, while still showing up to work while Kawhi sat out AN ENTIRE SEASON, with most of the Spurs questioning what the hell he was doing before forcing a trade out of SA and going to Toronto.

also, this conversation is literally just if you had ONE year. Everything else you're talking about above literally has nothing to do with the thread topic. I mean you're talking about 4-5 years down right above.
