Didnt Martz run Warner outta town in StL? This makes no sense.. Why does everything have to revovle around Warner with you?
Warner has claimed many times that he's on good terms with Martz and regardless of whether that's true or not, the choice between starting for Martz riding pine for Whis seems obvious to me.

I would like for it to be unthinkable for Warner to go somewhere else next year but that doesn't look like the case. Martz's offense takes a QB and players unfamiliar with it about a year to start functioning properly so I think it's realistic for Martz to want to bring in a QB that knows the system. Warner(maybe) and Green(probably) are the two easy guesses. Ryan Fitzpatrick is floating around somewhere but that's about the only other choice that even seems remotely conceivable.

There is no report anywhere on NFL.com or on ESPN of Martz being fired. In addition, it wasn't mentioned at all on the NFL Pregame on ESPN or in any of the half time shows.

From what source did this report come? This thread is the only mention I can find anywhere of Martz being fired.

Maybe Mike Sherman will bring him as our OC. I'll be checking PFT for any breaking news.

The rumor(so far) is that Martz is being looked at by SF. If he goes there will he recruit Warner or Green to come and ease the transition to his offense? I think Martz's scheme needs a stud running back more than flashy receivers. Holt and Bruce were perfect because of their quickness and precision. Even Furrey and McDonald made it work pretty well.

The main reason for SF to pursue Martz is to have him work with Smith, so bringing Kurt in probably doesn't make sense. But anything is possible. SF has not confirmed they're looking at Martz but it's all over the media so they probably are.

Gore wouldn't like it since Martz throws so much. I think Smith will drive Martz nuts, he's a stickler for QB's doing it his way and while Smith is a very bright kid not sure he's ready to be hit 15 times a game because everyone is in the pattern.

If no one wants him as an OC he'd be a heck of a QB coach to have.

It obviously hasn't happened yet. He was on the sidelines today calling plays at Green Bay.

Ok, well right now it's just rumor, but sounds like it could be true. All I could find was from the recap of the Lions/Packers Game on ESPN web site..

"The Lions (7-9) made it easy on the Packers, delivering an uninspired performance in what might have been their last game with Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator. Lions coach Rod Marinelli would not comment on multiple media reports that Martz would be fired. Martz was not available for comment."

That is a big blow to the Lions offense. I thought the Lions were headed in the right direction. Just one QB and RB away. They started off hot and couldnt win in the second half of the season. Way to keep the lions losing.
