So do you actually think that Arians just this year decided to play Fitz in the slot the majority of the time? Arians has wanted Fitz in the slot since day 1, but Fitz didn't want to do it. Along that line, Arians routinely said that you can't force the ball to players during those first two years, and then this year states that he felt that Fitz deserved plays to be called for him since he was willing to do the dirty work inside.
The relationship between Arians and Palmer and Keim is the reason Fitz was forced to change what he saw his role was in the offense. He didn't as much "buy in" as he had two sub par seasons trying to fight Arians on his role, and then accepted the role with the understanding that it would be best for his legacy. Don't kid yourself on this.
I was under the impression that Fitz had been playing a ton out of the slot for the past two years so if you know otherwise then your point obviously has a ton of merit.
Circling back to the main point of contention, Chip Kelley is still a big do do head.
