The WNBA is not much different than women's college ball - so what makes it "professional"? That was my original point. The WNBA is glorified women's college ball.

Oh, okay, I don't disagree there. It's "professional" because they get a few dollars, but probably no more than "scholarship" athletes. I guess the difference is that you find their "professional" moniker pretentious, whereas I find it irrelevant. I don't watch the WNBA for the same reason that I don't watch the NCAAs -- they just aren't very good. But I'm a lot more offended by so-called "student athletes" who are using college as a minor professional league than I am by women who are doing the best they can and not relying on institutionalized hypocrisy.
