See I mentioned this in my last post! You can't live in the now, you mention things that have happened in the past, which is not indicative of the future. No bragging here, just pointing out how delusional Niners fans have become. Every year it's the same thing, "This is the year we return to GLORY! Bryant Johnson is the next Jerry Rice! Shaun Hill is the next Joe Montana!" LOL.

Fact is the Niners consistently make terrible personnel decisions. Everyone and their brother knew Alex Smith was a terrible pick. Obviously Willis was a good pick, though anyone would've made that pick. Objectively, the Cardinals are better than the Niners at every position other than runningback and probably tight end. Quarterback? Cards Offensive line? Cards Receivers? Cards Defensive line? Cards? Linebacker? Other than Willis, the Cards have much more depth. Defesnsive back? DRC is better than Clements (the most overrated CB in the game).

The Cardinals basically have a new owner who is obviously committed to winning. We have a proven team that went to a Super Bowl last year. We have a proven coach who has changed the culture of the team, which again is proven by a Super Bowl berth. For those aforementioned 62 years, the Cardinals were lead by Billy boy, a cheapskate who never committed to winning.

Quit confusing the old Walsh-Montana-Young-DeBartolo Niners for the Singletary-Hill/Smith-Jed York led Niners. The Niners have been barely better than worst teams in the NFL over the past decades, and on a few occasions, have been worse than the Lions.

You **** on Shaun Hill like he's the most terrible QB in the league or something. He's 7-3 in the NFL with a QB rating of over 90% and a 70% complete rate. Excuse us 49ers fans for being comfortable with him under center. Smith is also making great strides and we are excited about him coming back healthy also.

"The Niners have been barely better than worst teams in the NFL over the past decades, and on a few occasions, have been worse than the Lions"

You know who's been worst than the Lions many many many times in the past 20 years? The Cardinals. In fact, you are the worst team in the past decades. Lions at least were a good team in the 90s and had a legend in Barry Sanders.

You obvious know nothing about the 49ers. We haven't been good for 5-6 years only. Don't try to make it sound like we've been perrennial losers like you guys.

From 1981-2002 the 49ers have been to the playoffs 18 times and won 5 Super Bowls!!! Yep, that's making the playoffs 18 years out over 21 years and winning the SB 5 times. That seems pretty recent to me.

IF you guys had any rings you would brag too so don't give me that living in the past crap.

I guess you are not too versed on the NFL then since the Cardinals actually have two rings, but we are more worried about getting back to the Super Bowl this year we have no time to talk about the past.

Going to be awesome to take those banners to Fesno.

And now, your FESENO 49ers starting QB, Tim Tebow.

LMAO I actally LOL'ed when you mentioned "the Cardinals" and "rings" together. We are talking about the SB era here...you know when the NFL actually have good players not random bums they pikced off from the streets like before.

" but we are more worried about getting back to the Super Bowl this year we have no time to talk about the past. "

Yea, because while I am talking about our glorious past our players and coaches are slacking at practice lol. Please save that cliche for another day man.

I am sure that is it and not Crabtree trying to get every dollar he can. It is the 49ers trying to teach him a lesson. Good one there Pyle. If that is the case and they are more worried about teaching a lesson than getting the best players on the field, I feel sorry that you have to be a fan of that team. Also, if you pull the, "the 9er's do not need him" crap, then you are an idiot since he was suppose to be the best WR in the draft and by your standards, the best WR in the draft is not needed since all the scrubs/past their prime WR are better. If that is the case, you have the worst scouting department in the league to pick a player in the 10 ten that is not better your pathetic WR's currently on the roster.

the 49ers have an outstanding history, one a 49er fan can be very proud of

the problem facing 49er fans now is that the only thing in common the current 49ers have with the organization that created all that history is the color of the uniforms they wear.

Completely different ownership, front office, players and economic situation.

I dont find the Jed York thing compelling either. Likely he is a "front" in the effort to get a new stadium as Denise and John York realize that they have alienated the majority of Bay area voters, so he is the new face of the franchise. I suspect that is all he is.

Also lost in the ownership change is how the 49ers economic situation relative to the rest of the NFL has plummeted. DeBartolo would regulalry lose money on the 49ers and have it covered by the family's large real estate business. In addition, virtually all of the 49ers history came in the pre- new stadium era. 20 years ago -- the 49ers were regularly in the top 5 in the NFL revenue and in spending on the team ( along with some salary cap cheating on top of it) --- now with a bottom 3 stadium situation, the 49ers are hamstrung and the product on the field shows it. Compounding matters is that with the State of Cal in budget armegeddon and voters fed up with stadium deals -- the politics to get a new stadium are the worst they have ever been.

So you are saying Charlie Trippi, a hall of famer, is a guy off the street? Marshall Goldberg, a guy who belongs in the hall, is a guy off the street. That is the most ignorant statement on this board. Players who played back then were the best of the best, just like they are now. Sorry you don't know your football history, but look some of it up. You will find those guys are much tougher than most who play the game today.

OK, I really didn't wanna start dissing the Cards but since you guys started dissing my team first I am going to end it.

First of all, don't even start with the whole ownership thing because you guys clearly have the worst one in the league along with the Lions. And our new ownership still has ties with Eddy. Jed York is the new owner now and he talks to Eddy everyday.

Second of all, yea we've been a below average team for the past 5-6 years or so but you guys have been WORST for the past TWO DECADES! In fact, you guys have been the doormat of the league for the past 62 YEARS!!! Not until last year, did you guys do anything that was to be proud of. Even so, the Cards did not win anything yet. NOTHING. You don't see any Bills fans running around bragging about their "SB appearances". When it comes down to it, where are your rings? Win them first then you can brag all you want.

Lastly, I came here in peace but you guys didn't appreciate that so now I am gonna tell the truth and it hurts doesn't it?

With that said, I look foward to playing you guys next season and hopefully the Cards will compete.

How's living in the past working out for you? :iwin:

Go hard, Go away... Nobody cares about the past... Us Cards fans have a winshield mentality, not a rearview mirror one.

Its great the 9er franchise has an illustrious histroy, bit it is just that. The direction the 9er Franchise is in is not a good one.

Once 09 Season kicks off, last season is a thing of the past to the team and to us fans. I will say the Cards fans have much more to look FORWARD to which is probably why you are looking BACK.

Peace...

49er's fan= KC Royals fan. They both got lucky with a good group of players in the 80's -90's and now have both sunk back to their irrelevant selves and still live in the past. I'm sure half the niners fans are sitting at their computer with their collars turned up and a members only jacket hanging by the door while their cassette of Duran Duran's greatest hits is blaring out of their boom box.

Jesus Christ you guys are haters. Cards fans of all fans should know that anything can happen in the NFL especially with all coaching and personnel changes that happen yearly. Just in 2008 you guys were still the doormat of the NFL (for 62 years) and last year, all of a sudden you went to the Superbowl. Actually just before the playoffs you guys were getting blown out by other NFL teams. 90% of the fans on here gave up and talked a bunch of crap about the team blah blah blah. And now it's the CArds this the Cards that and how the 49ers are nothing compared to you guys.

Give me a break. Step back and actaully read what you are saying. It's nothing but hate and no truth whatsoever. Anyway, I am as happy as can be about our current team and coaches right now. We went from 2-6 to 5-3 with at the end with our defense ranking top 4 in the league in points allowed. We have legit WRs and a QB whether you guys want to believe or not..it doesn't matter. Crabtree will sign and even if he doesn't we could trade his rights...use his money to sign a stud FA. We also have 2 first rounders next season to draft more young players.

Life's good as a 49er fan. While you Cards fans are trying to get a taste of a SB win, i've already experienced three of them! My franchise has done us no wrong, instead they've spoiled us with many many many winning seasons while you guys have been in hell for the past 62 years except 2009.

Within that said, good luck next season. hope you guys can compete. I am done arguing about this. You are Cards fans so you will talk smack about us and I will talk smack back. Nothing personal. I'm sure I would buy any of you guys a beer if we don't discuss football in life. So peace!

actually we were 8 and 8 with a host of injuries and the bionic commando at QB. Kurt was injured and played half the year injured, still threw 27 TDs, how was Alex Smith?

In a van...down by the river.

This is sooo true of fans EVERYWHERE.
When faced with a pissing contest between fans of rival teams and
your team currently sucks you're gonna live in the past on previous accomplishments....when your team is rolling and showing signs of life all of sudden you don't have a past and nobody's allowed to remind you of it.
Not sure why this is so hard to accept by some folks.
