OT: My school selects Cardinals as new mascot

The elementary school I work at is merging with another school next year, so the powers that be asked the kids from both schools to vote on a new mascot for the new combined school. The choices were: Huskies, Ravens, Bulldogs, Rockets, Dragons and Cardinals.

After hundreds of ballots were counted, the kids picked the Cardinals! I gotta think it has to have something to do with the Cards going to the Super Bowl ... and that rocks.

You guys suck, lol. Gotta take the fans when we can get them. Plus, I see parents picking up these kids and they are wearing all kinds of crazy stuff, like Steelers, Pats, Ravens and other crap.

Jersey Girl, are you being pushed out by the consolidation?

Probably. Rumor is that all first year teachers in Scottsdale are getting laid off this year due to the budget. However, in special ed, that doesn't usually mean that much since there is always a job if you are in special ed. Still, since I am on emergency certification, I am the one special ed teacher district-wide that most likely to be without a job come August.

So ... I am going back to my old school. And I am totally cool with that. I miss my old school and feel like it was so much better for the kids and the teachers. That said, I am still thinking about getting back into PR and advertising ... probably once the economy rebounds.
