Just watched last 4 minutes on you-tube. Nothing new, Seahawks are a bunch of crybaby snotrags... I, personally applaud the fans that tried to give Jefferson a "loser" shower... the whole Seahawk team deserved it after the 2 "attempts" to disrupt the Kneel... sure, try that if you want, but you have 1/4 second, after that you are just looking like a sore loser... or a Seahawk... they should have had 500 fans shower that bunch of bozos with beer, all the way out of the stadium .....

just my post-6 beer rant

Mods, we gonna let code words run rampant here?

Really?

Btw Paul Allen doesn’t do anything in football operations. How you gonna punish one of the worlds richest men?

Maybe Paul Allen should get involved.

Michael Bennett up for man of the year? Really? How does that happen? I guess lying about your involvement with the Las Vegas Police to stir the pot makes puts you on par with the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Walter Payton just to name a few. Sorry that is a joke.

Bennett showed what a turd he is by attempting to harm another player. He should be suspended.

As for the player going into the stands after the crowd it looked like the scene from "Slapshot" and the Hanson brothers. Except it was funny in the movie. Not so much in real life. As much I cannot stand the Seahawks the Jags fans actions are totally unacceptable. You never throw stuff at anyone. Are they trying to be like the Raiders fans? You risk a players career. They might be Seahags but they have families too. I puked a little as I typed it but it is true.

Off topic - Is anyone else actually enjoying the Touchdown celebrations now that the players are allowed to? I find them pretty entertaining and some are well thought out. Better to watch a team participate then one dude (can I say dude or is that a trigger word these days) show boating alone.

Only cowards throw crap from the stand. Be a man and face the 6'7" 300lb player face to face.

I've only been to a few games as UoP and concede that behaviour at Cardinal games has been cleaned up considerably, but I remember several games at SDS where there were a LOT of items thrown at players from the stands.

It happens everywhere on occasion. It's never right, but I'm not going to chastise Jacksonville or their fans over it.

Go Cards!!!

A gull-like bird in the Seattle area.

thug (n.)
1810, "member of a gang of murderers and robbers in India who strangled their victims," from Marathi thag, thak "cheat, swindler," Hindi thag, perhaps from Sanskrit sthaga-s "cunning, fraudulent," from sthagayati "(he) covers, conceals," from PIE root *(s)teg- "to cover."

The thugs roamed about the country in bands of from 10 to 100, usually in the disguise of peddlers or pilgrims, gaining the confidence of other travelers, whom they strangled, when a favorable opportunity presented itself, with a handkerchief, an unwound turban, or a noosed cord. The shedding of blood was seldom resorted to. The motive of the thugs was not so much lust of plunder as a certain religious fanaticism. The bodies of their victims were hidden in graves dug with a consecrated pickax, and of their spoil one third was devoted to the goddess Kali, whom they worshiped. [Century Dictionary]

The more correct Indian name is phanseegur (from phansi "noose"), and the activity was described in English as far back as c. 1665. Rigorously prosecuted by the British from 1831, they were driven from existence by century's end. Transferred sense of "ruffian, cutthroat, violent lowbrow" is from 1839.

Wait. I thought this type of behavior only happens in Philadelphia?

The amount of apologizing for the Seahawks on ESPN today is disgusting. Pretty much everything I've seen is former players defending the Seahawks and whining about how awful fans are.

Apparently Jefferson is the first player (actually victim is the word they are laughably using) to have something thrown at him by a fan??? Seriously all the former players on ESPN and NFL net are acting like the Seahawks did nothing wrong. "Just frustrated" "Defending themselves" "High character guys who were being victimized by fans." wow....

Fans are drunken idiots. Trying to go into the stands in a RAGE to fight thousands of people is completely insane!!! #Roidrage It's been happening forever. Doesn't make it ok, but if nothing else, these guy should be better at handling it because it's nothing new. There are systems in place (cameras, security) to hold criminal fans accountable.

I'm sooooo sick of the Seahawks being infallible in NFL circles. That game was an embarrassment to the league, and that makes it 2 weeks in a row. Not only that, it makes 2 weeks in a row where the players are totally defiant and unapologetic about their behavior.

Add in the constant concussion protocol violations and failures... (Texas, Seattle, etc) The anthem stuff (I dont care, but a lot of people do) The NFL is doing a really great job of destroying one of the most valuable commodities in human history.

Everyone in the NFL should be doing a full mea culpa today. All the players should be saying; Our behavior last night was totally unacceptable. If we hadn't incited a fight, none of that would have happened. But noooo,,, the poor Seahawks are victims in all this.

Here's what happened. The Seahawks can't handle losing, roid rage kicks in for Bennett, he attempts to injure the Jags center. The Jags stand up to them, a huge melee breaks out, 3 Seahawks ejected,,, fans get involved.

Apparently in the eyes of former players,,,, all of that equals "The Seahawks are the victims here." Even Pete the cheats BS response. "I told him the fans pay to get in so they can do whatever they want I guess." What a freaking unaccountable piece of crap Pete is. Yeah, focus on the fan, not your team full of jerks who cant control their tempers or handle losing. You continue to show us exactly who you are Pete.

This is very, very off putting.

NFL Network, ESPN, et al will never go against a player. The players might "boycott" (you know how that works) if any of the "journalists" put an iota of blame on player behavior.

BTW, Bennett, the one who not only dove at Linder's knees but did an ensuing pile drive on top of Linder a la Gronk, is never accountable for anything and when evidence comes out he makes up"stories" ( see Las Vegas profile rant ).

The NFL enforcement committee would shock the world if they handed out player suspensions. That might evoke a player boycott.

Jefferson is an idiot. Took his helmet off and climbed the security railing to do whatever. Fortunate for him there were enough security to do the "hold me back before I kill someone" dance.

I have thought quite often that engaging a drunk is just plain moronic. BTW, when Jefferson claimed they insulted his mother I am quite sure it was the old M F epithet. Far from dragging his family into the slurfest.

IMNSHO. :devil::doi:

No Seahawks players will be suspended for Sunday's actions against Jacksonville, though NFL still reviewing melee under standard process, per league official.

I watched the replay. What the fans did was wrong, and justifiably, were probably kicked out of the game and possibly banned from attending any other future games. But you cannot, as a player, go into the stands. The item thrown at Jefferson whizzed over his head, the mature response would have been to continue jogging to the locker room, not to play tough guy and try to laughably climb into the stands. Screamin' Stephen A. Smith was trying to defend this behavior.

Nothing new for the Seahawks. They had an o-lineman, Seeney or Swinney or something like that (who signed elsewhere I think) that was always diving at the defensive players knees. Every game the Cards played them when he was there I held my breath he was going to severely injure CC or somebody. Made my blood boil every time. And then there's the "legion of boom", all filthy nasty players.

Next to Fisher's Rams the Seahawks always have been the dirtiest team in the league IMO.
