Similar here. My wife is an Amazon Prime member so we have that and Netflix. I got Sling with sports add on for cable substitute. That has NFL Red Zone so I got rid of Ticket years ago. My OTA antenna is good, I get every channel in Phoenix so I am pretty set.

For some reason we have HBO, or "Max" as I guess they call it now, but watch very little. We could watch Hulu and Disney from my kids but we don't.
I had gotten rid of NFL Sunday ticket as of 2012 timeframe, but it was largely because moving overseas. the NFL packages overseas are cheaper. I brought back Sunday ticket this year and only needed it for 2 or 3 games. it's not worth it IMO, especially with all of the games on the other streaming packages.

truth. I subscribe to peacock for EPL. I also use Youtubetv for a cable sub. it gives me the chance to see every EPL match that I want and most NFL games that I want, because it gives me all the featured NFL games. amazon prime is easy because I use it for more than just streaming. for me the NFL Sunday ticket is on the chopping block. if my team isn't on tv I can just go to a local establishment and watch the game. especially where I live. so the NFL is still winning even if I don't subscribe to every streaming opportunity.
I watch every Cardinals game live with Dofu. I’m relegated to viewing on my iPad but I have a nice one!

I will not pay to watch an NFL game. I did NBA pass this year and that has been a waste of my time and money:) I won’t do it again…

ajcardfan, you said you have Sling. Can you do me a favor and check something? For 3 years now, Sling has been giving me all the Fox games for free every Sunday. It's like a poor man's Sunday Ticket.

If you just go to record a game and select record all episodes, that should do it. They will all be saved in your DVR once they start. At least it should. I'm dying to know if I am the only person this has worked for.

Here are the Fox games scheduled today on my DVR. I'm in Florida. Two of those are my actual local games. I shouldn't be able to watch Cardinals on Sling, but I will.

me neither, even amazon prime is a stretch because not everyone has it. playoffs should be on the network channels. that's where all the high ratings come in.
Sports cares less about ratings and more about overall revenue. If Amazon comes in willing to spend billions of dollars to air a game, that likely outweighs the hundreds of thousands or millions in ad revenue that they would probably make for a 30 second commercial... Unless it's the super bowl.

Exactly.

Also, these streaming services are paying huge dollars for the rights to air these games to test the waters. Maybe it pays off for them, maybe it doesn't, but they at least wanted to try.

If they lose their @ss on the deal, they'll think of other ways to spend their programing budget.

true, and good point about their highest rated games like the super bowl being on network tv.

I don't know how much the streaming companies are making, but it seems to be profitable. amazon has been streaming EPL holiday season matches in the UK, which gives the UK more options there to watch their "football." they don't get to see all of their matches on television like we do for our sports. they have two rival cable networks that both charge separate fees if you want to watch each of their weekly featured matches. and then all of their Saturday afternoon games get blacked out, meaning there is nowhere that you can legally watch them in their country, unless you go to the game. Pubs that pirate the games can get closed down. it's really dumb.

Commanders aren’t winning another game. Ron Rivera owes 90% of his career to Cam & the other 10% to Sean McDermott for keeping him employed this long.
yeah it makes me wonder about his decision to fire jack del rio and others mid season. and I'm not a Jack Del Rio fan. either way Ron Rivera is losing his job at the end of the year so why not tell your management that you are not making any changes and let them make that decision. that kind of made me feel different about rivera for throwing his coaches under the bus mid season. I could say the same for Tomlin. He would be fired anywhere else.

yeah --ugh

that is a really bad look for the HC to be worked so quickly by an offensively challenged team

Houston v. Indy, with a playoff birth possibly on the line the last day of the season, likely decides if Houston’s pick ends up 15 or in the 20s.
