"Grigson helping to find Pagano's replacement does not guarantee that he'll be the Colts' general manager next season, according to sources. Grigson will not return if the new coach has his own general manager preference, according to sources. Owner Jim Irsay also will be heavily involved in the coaching search."

OK, so the new coach has a say in who the new GM will be? That just seems odd to me...backwards, even.

Not a lot of hot coaching prospects out there. He will land somewhere, probably Miami. If not, we will take him on our staff!

I am calling it now that Andrew Luck is going to try and get out of there when his contract is up. Probably won't happen because Irsay is stubborn but that team is about to be an even bigger dumpster fire. Why can't these sorts of things happen to the Patriots?

He was a great DB coach at Miami, IIRC.

We are liable to have some openings after we win the SB. ;)

I would love to have Luck, but would he be willing to sit behind Palmer for a year? Doubt it.

Luck is FA after next season... It would time out perfectly...although don't be surprised to see Palmer retire if Cards win SB50.

Cue the Saban to Indy rumors

Nick Saban
Chip Kelly
Sean Payton
Brian Kelly

Indy is the best situation in football, and it gets better if Grigson is fired which I expect will happen. Not needing a QB is a huge advantage.

It is pretty backwards. It fuels the rumors that they are going after a very big hire.

Vegas has Chip as the favorite to go to Indy. Brian Kelly has also been mentioned.

That front office is a joke. It just kills me to see these teams with great QB just let them go to waste

If the rumor about Kelly is true then I have to think Irsay has finally lost it. Chip needs to go back to the college ranks and stay or become a coordinator and learn the pro game. JMHO.

That won't happen. He will play another 2 years at least.

From a closer to home message board I frequent, in a Colts/Pagano thread:

I wish we could get Coach Dungy back.

Or Areins .....

Him too, but I don't think the AZ owner is as DUMB as San Frans is.

Pagano and Grigson need to go.

Think Bruce Arians would come back?

They never should have let him go.

Somebody has to go and it's usually the head coach whether the poor season is his fault or not. Pagano is certainly not responsible for the injured QB parade but he's one of the faces, if not THE face, of the team. Grigson may have to take the "credit" for the awful offensive line but that can be fixed in the off-season if Irsay will spend the money. My biggest worry is about Luck. He's young and has a great career ahead of him if he has an O line to play behind. If the Colts don't prop it up, he should take the next plane out of Indy.

It's a beautiful thing. :D
