Speaking of Dennis Green...

A few weeks back I caught an interview with him on the radio. He was asked if he would coach again. As best as I can recall his response was:

"Sure. But only if I don't have to "sell" the team to the community. When we arrived in Ariz. they were only getting 15,000 fans to their games. When we left they were getting 60,000 +. Nevertheless. I don't want to have to "sell" the team to the community. It's too hard."

That was the gist of his statement.

Just thought I'd share it with you all.

and oh-by-the-way ---

the team also moved from the WORST stadium in the NFL to one of the very best.

Denny is even more full of it than I thought.

I also heard Denny on the radio a while back and when he was asked about his time with the Cardinals he immediately deflected his answer to his time at Minn. He basically said that his record at Minn. spoke for itself and the Cardinals organization was one that many coaches had failed to succeed with.

While that's true, Denny conveniently forgot to mention that he got almost everything he wanted from the Bidwills (i.e. Edge, draft choices etc.) And still sucked.

I wonder what he would say now about all of his players playing better under a new head coach?

I think Denny would be happy if his time in AZ would just disappear from history. I know I would be.

It's too hard?? The best way to sell the team to the community is by winning on the field. Focus on fielding a good, well coached team and the attendance issue will take care of itself. Winning solves everything. If that's too hard for him, he shouldn't be coaching....ever.

As for Dennis Green

"Out on the road today I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac...a little voice inside my head said 'you can't look back, you can never look back' (Don Henley)"....

I simply refuse to even talk about him anymore...

In the end I just wanna be on record saying that I have no hard feelings towards Denny. His methods obviously were not successfull, but he tried to improve my beloved Cardinals and did do some positive things. While I blame him almost 100% for our loss against Chicago, you gotta admit the post game press conference was beautiful.
