So I'm really happy because yesterday was the first time I used my newest addition to my tailgate setup, a gas powered generator!

Previously I had just run my TV off my power converter in my truck but it was very nerve wracking to worry about draining the battery. So I bought a little generator and it worked great!

Anyways, on to my question. I've never owned a generator before. The next home game isn't for two weeks so can I leave the gas in it until then or do I need to run it all out?

In the owners manual it just says that I need to use "fresh gas" but gives no definition of fresh. Sorry if this is a really dumb question. I dont have motorcycles or ATV's or anything, the only gas powered item I have is my truck and I rarely worry about the gas in it going stale. lol :p So I have no experience with this stuff.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Just don't let it sit for weeks on end. Just start it up every couple weeks for a few minutes and you will be fine.

Yep, fire it up a bit and add more gas and you'll be good. I have two, a Honda 1000 & 2000. I forgot to drain one and let half a tank sit from last season causing the generator to act like our 3rd down play.

I drained the old gas added fresh fuel and ran the generator until the problem was solved. There are fuel additives out there but with only a one gallon tank, I'd rather burn out the problem.

Proper oil level and it's cleanliness is even more important.

You are good to add gas as needed until the end of the season. Once you stop tailgating then drain the tank to store it until you are ready to use it again. Gas doesn't go bad that fast. Even 6 month old gas will burn fine. After that you should dump it and start fresh.
