Balzer reported the NFL was concerned Sam wouldn’t be drafted, so a deal was made with the Rams.

Its extremely disrespect to both the Rams organization and Michael Sam himself. Nobody was doing Sam a favor by drafting him, he was an outstanding player in college. SEC DPOTY in fact. Him coming out is the reason why he dropped in the draft, other wise he arguably would've been taken before round 5.

I think this is being spun. I can see Fisher telling the NFL that he was considering Sam but would want to minimize the likely extreme media circus so would want to avoid Hard knocks.
