Just a couple more I's to dot and T's to cross, but Rex Ryan now expected to be the next Buffalo Bills HC. First domino falls!

The offensive coordinator Rex Ryan is most likely to bring with him to Buffalo is 49ers OC Greg Roman, per source.

That's a bad hire for Buffalo. The Bills are the same team that Ryan has failed to get to the playoffs with in New York for the last several years.

Ryan is like Mike Shanahan. He can get the most out of a team for a couple years, but don't expect him to build anything. Atlanta of San Fransisco would have been a better fit.

Don't see what teams see in Rex Ryan as a HC. As a DC he's very good.

When I saw this, I thought this a terrible hire too. Basically has the same team as the jets. Plus no proven QB with Manuel when Orton retired. Really confused with this hire

If Ian Rapport is to be believed, the Falcons wanted Ryan, which is the logical place for Todd Bowles.

Team with a really good defense and not so good QB. He's used to that situation at least.

Rex better get him a good coordinator and pray he can find a decent starting QB. Sanchez should be available :)

Why would Ryan pass on Atlanta? Doesn't make sense.

Trying to think like a Ryan hurts my head but my guess is that the Falcons don't have much talent on D but the Bills have a TON of talent on that side of the ball so Ryan can put together a Killer D which is his strength.

Now he needs a good OC and a non sucky QB and he will make noise.

Totally agree. When the Jets hired Rex Ryan I said he would fail as a head coach. He is a Ryan after all and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

If he's brining in Roman as his OC, I think he will be in much better shape than he was in NY. Roman has experience dealing with QB's like Manuel.

He does have something in Buffalo that he didn't have in NY and that is a top notch receiver in Sammy Watkins. He also has a better running game. The only thing Buffalo is missing is a good QB. He's going into a better situation in Buffalo than he had going into NY so this will be interesting.

I heard Ryan was really ticked last time he interviewed with Atlanta because he thought he had the job and then they decided on Smith instead. Maybe, once Buffalo offered, he decided to turn the tables on them this time.

If that's the case then he's cutting his nose off to spite his face. The difference in the 2 teams is that in Atlanta he had the opportunity for success right now but that window is starting to close while Buffalo is a couple of pieces away from being a real contender. Win now or win later.

I'm sure the chance to stick it to the Jets twice a year was also a factor.

I think Ryan has a crush on belicheck and the only way to see him twice a season is to stay within the division

And thou were wrong about that, so how have you modified your thinking in response to the evidence?

I think this is a step back for Buffalo. Never been a big believer in Ryan.
