but by that same token.. bringing this to some legal matter is exactly why we are just slaves to govt..
Charges to the fullest mean sucking from his wallet. Thats what most laws are for anyway. Not for any valid moral reason.
they give us booz, know full well it causes people to act like this. But hey, thats freedom, right?
they want you to booz up and hit people.. so you give work and money to the 'law' enforcers and money to the hospitals for getting in accidents. Booz and stupidity help capitalism continue.

I've been in the middle of a section clearing brawl at a Padres game in San Diego. A couple of guys were fighting, one guy came in at full speed to land a sucker punch on one of the bigger guys, who dodged, and the sucker punch hit a girl and completely knocked her out. Bedlam breaks out and people just start fighting each other. But it was over in seconds (like this video), and I think that if you start dishing out justice you're just going to make the problem worse. Not in all cases, but some.
Anyways, absolutely not apologizing for the stupid Panthers fan at all, but the league, or at least individual stadiums, really need to come to a consensus on standing rules. If you're expected to sit throughout the game so others can see, there shouldn't be promos encouraging fans to stand and yell. If standing is a reasonable expectation, it should be impressed upon fans who want to come to the game for a more peaceful atmosphere. Or maybe create sitting only sections, like the alcohol-free sections?
I can't tell you how many times I've been to games over the past 14 years and have had opposing teams' fans ask me to sit down while we're on defense. A couple of times people have put their hands on me. I'm not an overly aggressive guy, but it's not cool, especially when 98% of the rest of the stadium's fans are standing.

Wow. That was horrible. Am I mistaken or was the female the instigator and the guy just went ape on the seated guy? Seems to happen quite often in this manner. Haven't been to a stadium in years because of situations like these. Ain't worth it.

I would need to know the whole story. People today think they can say anything to each other. The older guy was leaning in on him giving him hell for what I don't know. I don't support just blasting someone in the face but man why people think they can just sit there and run their mouth gets past me. If you think you have the right to bitch someone out you better stand up and be ready for what might be coming your way.

I don't think they do. If something happens people stand. If it's a big moment coming people stand. I don't like to stand much but if the people in front of me do I just stand up and don't get the big deal. IMO if fans just want to sit and watch a game get a good seat for that.
It's why I don't fly South West. I want to know where I'm sitting and not worry about it. I don't mind paying more to get the experience I want. If at some point people in front of me is a big deal I will get seats that's not a problem.

I don't buy that he called him that. In fact, it sounded to me like he yelled "You know I spent..." and then got rocked.
Read the eye witness account from the first post. It seems all the name-calling was coming from the puncher.
The guy (Warren Carrigan) who posted the video had this to say when someone questioned what the victim said before the punch. It's in the comments.

In my opinion it's an epidemic at the Cardinals games. People are there to "be seen" or have a Sunday activity, rather than root for the team.
Good to know the guy has been arrested though. You don't take it to that level.

Nothing at all. I just find it ironic and unfortunate that people are willing to boycott the NFL because players are peacefully, legally and constitutionally protesting... while the NFL has long been complicit in THIS serious problem... one that often involves people suffering real harm/injury.
What happened in this case is actually played out many times around the country each Sunday. The NFL knows this... but chooses ad monies from beer companies and related advertisers over taking meaningful action to remove this problem. It's an epidemic actually...
No he did not. Doesn't matter what he said or didn't say. He was vulnerable and the a whole punched him full blast 4 times in the face. No way that was simple assault. That seems IMHO aggravated assault. Lawyer help please. Panthers get sued on this one.
