This is pure opinion and conjecture but in y'alls opinion, what were the best teams never to win a title? Mine are, in no order:

1985 Dolphins
1998 Vikings
1991 49ers
2007 Patriots(this one is fairly obvious)
1978 Cowboys
2001 Rams
2009 Colts

That Bills team that lost to the Giants and the 2007 Pats teams are 2 and 1 for me.

maybe its homerism, lol

the 07/08 arizona cardinals

dubbed the worst team to make the playoffs..I think we were also one of the best teams to not win the super bowl... that team had pro bowlers everywhere and multiple hall of famers

Hall of fame QB

first ballot WR in Larry...

on players only the other night they mentioned Q as a hall of famer and based on his stats and play it cant really be argued with...maybe not first ballot,..but he will get in.

so,..QB and both starting WR's as hall of famers.... with Edgerrin James in the backfield

very similar to the GSOT...except we had the 6'8" Leonard Pope at TE (suxx that kid never quite lived up to what could have been)

on defense we had a prime D90 and bertrand Berry with Los and Calvin Pace in the front with Antrelle Rolle in the backfield with money Mike Adams and Adrian Wilson... had that secondary been just a tad bit better we likely would have won more games...including the super bowl...

but the team over all was very good... high powered offense and a very disruptive turnover generating defense.

Pace was a Jet in 08, we had Chike Okeaor and Travis Laboy opposite BB. Ok

I would put the '15 Cards over the '08 Cards in best teams not to win. In all actuality, the 1975 Cards could be included on this list as well. 11-3, division winner, however couldn't win a playoff game. In fact, the '74-'76 teams rival the '13-'15 in terms of championship quality teams. the '08 team just caught lightning in a bottle similar to the '85 Patriots.

That defense was so talented it was arguably the worst in the NFC. Luckily a HOF QB can make them look respectable.

Sadly, our inconsistent defense ended up costing us a championship. How we allowed the Stealers to march 90 yards like it was nothing makes me sick. And remember, they had a 3rd and long and actually converted it but the safety negated it.

yep...lots of playmakers but they didnt play very well as a team
Always baffled me how bad that defense was with some of the talent we had on that side of the ball. Wilson, Rolle, Dockett, Dansby, DRC (though he was a rookie), Smith. Not saying they should've been top 5, but they should've at least been in the upper half of the league. Clancy was a truly awful DC

OT - though the thread has already taken a sharp veer to Cardinals rosters:

Steve Keim needs to take a note from the rosters established by Denny Green. Power 5 conference talent!!! Stop with trying to catch lightning in a bottle with small school prospects. Go for the best available players which have the best college experience, and resumes.

It's OK to take the long shot once in a while, but trying to "outsmart" 31 other teams by populating the team with a plethora of long-shots is not the path to sustained success!

In reality, the only small school talent that really panned out was DJ unless I’m that forgetful.
