dang us coyotes fan are out numbered on are board.

That's alright. I see fans in the seat in AZ.

Sucks you guys might miss the playoffs.
I watch the Coyotes a lot, actually. They usually come on at around 10pm on the east coast so I can watch the Pens, and the Yotes in one night.

UGh, I may not know too much about hockey....but I know that was not how it was supposed to look.

We could have wrapped up the playoffs last night, and instead they laid an egg.

Probably gonna get whooped by the Devils tonight, if the team doesn't get its collective act together.

All right! The Devils are pretty much done as far as the division, and we're now atop the conference! Montreal does have a game in hand, though.

All I have to say about last night was WOW!

Do you see some of the moves Crosby pulled off ?

That was a big win, and a big statement.

The only sore spot was the cheap shots the Islanders was laying on Hossa.

Okay, an OT loss to the Rangers kept us atop the conference. We're tied with Montreal, but we have more wins. Excellent. Now let's beat the Broad Street Babies to stay atop the conference.

EF that Halpern (sp?) goon. Gawd, do I hate the Cryers. Goon, thug team. They played unbelieveably dirty, and it killed them. Trying to be thugs, cheapshotting Crosby. Hmm, wonder who got the best of that exchange? LOL

Stupid local channels.

Yeah, I only heard the game, I didn't see it. Division champs! Pretty cool stuff.

You don't get Fox Sports Pittsburgh? Well, at least you got Mike Lange on the radio broadcast, right? He was always my favorite hockey announcer. 'Mario Lemieux shoots and scores!!! Awww, buy Sam a drink and get his cat one too!'

Well, this is it. For the top seed: Montreal hosting Toronto Saturday night, Pittsburgh visiting Philly on Sunday.

Regardless, it would be pretty great to have a first round that featured:

Montreal vs. Boston
New York Rangers vs. New Jersey
Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia

I guess Crosby vs. Ovechkin would be cool, too, but I'm more of a team rivalry guy.

Good luck this weekend. Hope to see you in the conference finals.

Yeah, hopefully we beat you in the conference finals ;)

It does all come down to this weekend, but we basically have the advantage. You must win both games AND have us lose our next one, or we have the #1 seed. If we end up tied, we have the advantage in wins, and thus the tie-breaker. Like you said, this is what it all comes down to. Let's go Pens!

Pittsburgh has the tie-breaker over Montreal, so they need only beat Philly to claim the conference. But if they lose and Montreal wins, Montreal takes it.

My bad, I didn't see that Montreal had played that game yet. Yes, since they won, if we lose one and you win on, Montreal will be the #1 seed. Not going to happen, though, and it will be SOOOO sweet to beat the Cryers to seal it!

So, correct me if I'm wrong. I know if we win tomorrow, we're the #1 seed. That much I know. Since Philly's clinched a playoff spot and sits at #8, if we beat them, then we're the 1 v 8 matchup, yes? Yet, if they win, we get the #2 seed and they get the #7 seed, forcing a 2 v 7 matchup, right? Hehehe...I'm going to love killing the Cryers in the playoffs :D

Edit: I'm wrong. If the Cryers win (yah, right!) then they finish 6th and we'd play Ottowa. I'd much rather play the Cryers in the 1st round, thank you very much.

Sorry about the loss to the Flyers. That must sting...but this was a great season for the Pens, and hopefully you'll get another crack at Philly in the playoffs. Ottawa is not in great shape right now with some recent key injuries, especially if Alfredsson really does miss two weeks.

It stings only because the Cryers didn't beat us, we did. We decided to rest Crosby, and it seems like the rest of the team decided to take the game off as well. The Pens announcers even said we were kicking around the idea of resting Fleurry for the 3rd period. I think this overall attitude is extremely stupid on our part. Yeah, we get a supposedly toothless Senators team in the first round, but you know, I really don't want to play four games in Montreal. Stupid, idiotic, and soft. That describes our approach to yesterday's game.

Malkin made Mike Commodore look like an amateur on the second Pens goal tonight.

Commodore was in a tough spot. What do you do? You can't just shut down the passer and give Malken a 1-on-1. You can't charge Malkin because he'll make you look ridiculous and get the puck right to Sykora. Kind of a lose-lose, but he should have made a choice to force the issue.

Commodore was the defender than Malkin beat along the boards at the blueline to set up the 2-on-1, not the defender on the 2-on-1 itself.
