Sorry if this has already been posted... I didn't see it anywhere.

Britt has been released by the Browns now that Josh Gordon is playing again. He has to clear waivers, which is very possible after he signed a 4yr/$32.5 million contract last offseason & has spend most of this season injured.

Any interest in bringing him in for a reasonable contract after he clears waivers?

Edit: It sounds like he was a knucklehead in Cleveland... then again, it's Cleveland... maybe he was trying to force his way out to collect his $10 million guaranteed & then sign on with a better team. Knucklehead antics: Missed curfew the night before a game (he was injured anyways), complained about having to play in London (coached benched him for the game), annoyingly loud & disruptive in the locker room during other players interviews.

I don't think I'd be interested in him... he's only had 1 season (2016) where he caught more than 50 passes and had 1000+ yards. He had 3 seasons (09, 10, 14) with 42-48 catches and 700-775 yards. Then again, he spend the beginning of his career on the Titans & then the Rams... not exactly great teams or offenses.

Perhaps the Browns should keep his number on speed dial because it's likely that Gordon will get high again and be suspended.

hell...sign him...might help..if he dont, just make him gameday inactive all season...might be able to squeak out a sixth round compensatory pick for him next year

If the Cardinals were to pick him up off waivers, he'd be under contract through 2020 with salaries from $6.5-7.75M per year. If they signed him as a free agent after he inevitably clears waivers, not sure he'd bother signing for 4 games, rather than just waiting for next year. So... there's probably no scenario where the Cardinals would get a comp pick for him.

I remember wanting the Cards to sign him in the off season. Looks like I was wrong about that and he was just looking for one last pay day. Of course every situation is different. Who would have though Ted Ginn would go on to have some productive years after his abysmal season in Arizona?

At this point in our season, giving your backups more game snaps increases in priority over bringing in a vet who may or may not help us.

Looks like he was primarily used as a deep threat throughout his career when you look at his average yards per catch. He could replace John Brown as a deep threat.

Patriots are paying WR Kenny Britt a pro-rated portion of the veteran minimum $900,000 this year, then $1.5 million next year with chance to get to 2M with incentives, per source. Next year is Patriots’ option; if not exercised, Britt becomes a UFA.
