just a couple of weeks ago you were singing a whole different song. I won't be surprised to see the same thing happen again. I think this dallas-sanantonio-phoenix triangle is overrated. Either way you spin it I think those teams will probably play 7 games against each other. I'm just glad dallas won't have to do it against the spurs again in the 2nd round. I think dallas and phoenix are both better than they were 2 years ago and since then the head to head record is nearly tied with a lot of close games. So why pro suns people claim that they have an edge over dallas is beyond me. It's also hard for me to believe people claim the mavs have a clear edge over the spurs when you look at their head to head play....and the empty trophy case. The only thing that is clear when looking at the three is that the spurs have a great record against the suns of late.
it's pretty simple really. Despite major injury problems the Phoenix Suns beat the Mavericks two years ago in the playoffs and last year pushed them to six games. Don't forget also that Phoenix had big leads in several of the games in the series last year, and I think it's completely fair to say that fatigue was a big part of those collapses.
This year (knock on wood) the Phoenix Suns are completely healthy. If they can get past San Antonio, and I'm not at all confident about that, I think they'll beat Dallas in 6.
Injuries are part of the game. It's easy to use them as excuses for losing. That's not the case here though. San Antonio and Phoenix have healthy rosters where there were injury problems last year. I think it's safe to say that gives them a better shot against Dallas this year.
