Yeah this is kinda getting the best of both worlds for Oubre. Gets $30M instead of $4M QO, so not a terrible gamble if he gets hurt, and he gets to renegotiate again in short time. Suns get reasonable contract but no long term certainty of price concession.
What this tells me is that Oubre has a really high opinion of his value, despite no one offering him anything over $15M per for two or more years.
