Uhm, Nmamdi. I applaud all the moves the Cards have made. I appreciate their aggressiveness, it's a whole lot better than what we've seen in the past, but when a hot girl turns you down, it stings. (Although, most guys around ASFN have never been shot down by hot chicks :D)

And BTW Mitch, most of my posts are only half serious. I do appreciate the optimism that Chris, you and many others usually have. I am normally a pretty negative guy no matter what I try to do. Hope my joking post to Chris didn't offend you too much. BTW, I've never been shot down by a hot chick either guys, I just said that to make you feel like we had something in common. :D

I like Nnamdi as much as the next guy, but if the Cards shelled out that amount of coin for a corner I'd be pissed. They knew DRC was on his way out for months, a smarter move would have been to go after Joseph.

Yeah, Urban wouldn't be saying that just to make the Cards look good. Naw, never.

Fine Breaston is not pulling coverage off Fitzgerald.

But what is even funnier is thinking Chansi Stuckey, or Roberts, or Housler or Doucet is going to do that.

My point exactly. We NEED another WR that is threat. We don't have one, and I doubt the Cardinals will go out and get one. I hope to be very wrong.

I'm with you Rugby. Urban used to be a class reporter. Now he's nothing but a shill for the Cardinals. Nothing wrong with that but you have to take everything he writes with a grain of salt substitute.

But its not Breaston thats the problem its that we were assured that Boldin would be easily replaced by Breaston and or Doucet for one reason because the Cards record was better with Boldin out than on the field and it hasn't happened.

They probably were. Houston just gave a better offer sooner than expected (he was expected to sign after Nnamdi not before)

Urban and Somers have already said today the Cardinals are done at WR. Want to see what they have in Roberts / Doucet.

Did say they were getting a corner.

That is a HUGE mistake, IMO. The Cardinals will suffer this year for it.

What if Fitzgerald goes down ? How many guys you think are going to be on Fitz with these other "weapons" on the field ?

Poor decision making, moves, and evaluation of talent by the Cardinals.

It will be just like last year, but instead of the QB not being able to get the ball to the WR's, it will be the WR's not being able to get open for the QB.

All because the Cardinals didn't want to pay Steve Breaston 2mil a year ? Not good, IMO. Not good at all.

I'm with ya, Rugby. I really hope that Roberts can step up because we all know Doucet cannot stay healthy.

I smell a board bet...

Breaston yards versus the highest Cards receiver after Fitz?

Hmmm. That sounds intriguing.

The Chiefs can actually run the ball, so that is a tough one to be very sure about on either side of the bet.

They also had no clue Leinart was going to get cut.

If it's one thing the Cardinals' brass doesn't do is leak info to the media.

Another case of statistics sophistry failing again. Anyone with an objective mind knew that was bs, anyone buying it...got a mouthful of.....
*and what did the media say...presented it like a fact*

As fans, we were hoping that we had enough of a core to withstand the loss, but of course that was wishful thinking. Burned again.

This guy will help, but we're still a lot less proven to have a core anywhere near what it was with Fitz/Boldin/Breaston manning the top 3.

OT! Crap, my original post came out wrong. There should be the word "guys" between you and feel in the last sentence. I hope I didn't offend you, Mitch. I swear I'm a pretty lighthearted guy who likes to joke around. I honestly meant no offense to you personally on that. Hope you haven't put me on ignore and you see this.

Weren't the reports that Breaston has signed for 5 years with $9-10M guaranteed? If so, the average cap hit will be a lot more than $2M/year.

Just keepin' it real....

another great signing. He's much better than James Jones. He just needs a chance to play. The Browns had the worst WR corp league and he couldn't play for them.

This signing is still a headscratcher unless he is going to be no more than the #4 WR.

He averaged 8.7 yards a catch...thats ok for a RB or FB but awful for a WR

He is not a replacement for Breaston...I guess they have a lot of faith in our other WRs to improve (Williams, Roberts, Komar) or stay healthy (Doucet) or make an impact as a rookie (Sampson).

I like Andre Roberts BTW and really hope he builds on how he ended the season, I like Doucet too but he is too brittle to be counted on.

Unless they want something leaked for PR reasons for example. I don't think the Cards knew they were going to cut ML until he went all crybaby to the press.

Now I'm waiting for one of those outstanding Mitch posts getting us all geeked up about how the new Cards roster is going to be put to use.

I for one think that Whiz has done a lot of reviewing tape and scouting other teams offensive schemes so while keeping a lot of what he does will also incorporate some of how teams utilize TE's more for example.

This is the one signing I dont like. I hope he proves me wrong, but He better not be the only WR we sign. I want Malcom Floyd, 6'5" solid speed, huge target, good run blocker.

Keep Roberts as the slot WR & Doucet can play #4.

We upgraded our QB
We upgraded our LB

I just don't know how you say we upgraded our LB. We went from one injury prone guy who made little to no impact the last two years to another injury prone guy who has made little to no impact for the better part of the last two years.

that looks like a wash to me... at a position that we were AWFUL in last year. sweet.

We upgraded our OL

How? We replaced a guy who sucked in Faneca with a guy we hope is better in Colledge and lost our best linemen in Lutui and replaced him with no one. again... WASH... maybe even worse than an ABYSMAL group from last year.

We stayed the same on the Secondary

right... with a group that was terrible last year.

We slightly downgraded our receiving

agreed... although I think it's a little worse than that. the fact that Urban says the Cardinals are depending on Mr. Glass to do anything says everything I need to know about this position.

And we are still looking for a corner and there are still free agents to be had.

we got the corner but the jury's wayyyyy out on him.

and all that being said... we still have zero proven OLB, no pass rush and an OT who sucks so much ass, his teeth are brown just like his name.

i just don't get it... they spend all this money on a QB and give him only one legit weapon to throw to. One step forward, two steps back.

They "want to see what they have in Doucet." What the hell do they need to see? The guy's got talent but can't stay healthy enough to use it. That doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out.

Even the most optimistic have to struggle with this signing. Unless of course we are not done at the WR position. Don't like how we set up at this position at all right now.
