Like many have said, there is absolutely no point in judging him on this season. None. It's been such a disaster that you can't guage anything. If he's still not looking any better a few games into next season, then it's a discussion.
Here's how he compares to the other rookies taken this season:

Baker Mayfield: 7-7, 310 of 486(63.8), 3,725 yards, 27 TD, 14 INT
Sam Darnold: 4-9, 239 of 414(57.7), 2,865 17 TD, 15 INT
Josh Allen: 5-6, 159 of 320(52.8), 10 TD, 2,074, 12 INT, 631 rush yards, 8 TD
Josh Rosen: 3-10, 217 of 393(55.2), 2,278, 11 TD, 14 INT

Aside from Mayfield he did comparatively well to the others although Allen has the running ability. I still don't think he's anything great. I don't see him being any better than, say, a Ryan Tannehill or even a Kirk Cousins. Doesn't mean he can't be a winner. It depends on what's built around him. Flacco showed you don't have to be Payton Manning to win a title.

Rosen needs another opportunity simply because of the lack of any semblance of an effective offensive system and team around him. From the Oline to the TEs and WRs along with an ineffective running game has left him without any supporting cast. Even Fitz is nothing near what he was in his prime. You could name 20 other WRs that are better than Fitz and this is no knock on Fitz it's simply father time catching up with him. You had guys blocking for him who couldn't even earn a roster position and were on and off practice squads. WRs who would not be rostered on another NFL team. A coaching staff who had no clue on how to effectively use Rosen. A dinosaur of a OC (one who may have set a record as being the only OC fired two consecutive years by mid season) followed by one who didn't seem to have the ability to even gradually change the offense to something better. This was a prefect storm for a rookie QB.

his last throw was reason for optimism

3rd and long with the game on the line -- and given some protection, he delivers a dime down the middle into a tight window ---- only to have Sherfield drop it

Rosen with time was far, far better between the hashes and struggles outside the hashes

arm strength wasn't the issue but accuracy. It suggests footwork

I think these last few games and the hits he has taken have been really damaging to Rosen's timing.

Watching the game today I really thought he was throwing to spots but not waiting for the play to develop fully, hence high and long.

It's tough watch to someone not improve this season but I am going to wait another year before I form a full opinion.
Im just happy Rosen made it out alive. He can focus on improvement as opposed to rehabbing.

The problem we have now is that due to the scapegoating panic over our hired QB Sam Bradford that the dynamics thrust this guy into a cluster and infested him with all kinds of negative cluster energies.

It's like buying a 4x4 monster truck, it breaks down so you go mudding with your brand new Lambo.

Great idea.

Now it might of been a lemon on it's own, maybe it wasn't, who knows cause it's covered in mud and crap.

Let’s make this a day of celebration. All focus should be on the firing ofWilks. Don’t let anyone take that focus away from you. This is a moment to savor

That’s the problem. Next year (or the next 3 years) We’re not going to have the best o-Line in football and Elliot and Barkley in the backfield. At some point josh is going to have to support himself and make some plays.

Josh Rosen = Coach Killer

One down, how many more to go?

I hope this is in jest, but this is an awful take. How about Bradford, Fitz, DJ, Gresham, and others who had their worst, or close to their worst, pro seasons in their careers? Are they coach killers, as well? How about Mike McCoy and Leftwich?

Max Hall also had Whiz. None of the staff on this team can hold the Whiz's jock strap on his worst day. Until Rosen at-least gets a coach of Whiz's caliber, it is unfair to write off Rosen without affording him benefit of doubt.
Doesn’t it hurt saying this? I grew very tired of Whiz, especially at the end, but I miss having a coach that knew how to gameplay at least a little and could make things work, more or less, with scrubs like Skelton and Moxie.

Regardless, let’s hope the FO makes another Whiz/BA caliber hire. I think they learned their lesson.

Baker took a team that had a combined 3 wins the previous 35 games and went 6-6 ‍[emoji3603]. Cleveland went from the laughing stock of the NFL to some sort of relevance.
Baker stares down his former HC...wonder how he would've treated Wilks and his ineptitude...
