Sorry for starting another P2 thread.:)

The Cardinals cornerback was diagnosed with Type Two diabetes in 2014, and he said that will weigh on his mind when it’s time to go back to work.

“If I feel that if that’s the safest thing possible for us to be able to come back to work, I’m all-in,” Peterson said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. “But if it’s not, obviously I have to make — not I, we all have to make a very, very smart decision because you don’t want to have the opportunity to bringing that back home.

“So, that’s the biggest thing we [can] do is make sure that we’re smart. I know the NFL is doing everything that they can, but it’s just so tough to put a finger on it on how to evolve around this virus.”

This is going to be a big issue in the near future. I don’t see him playing. I could be wrong.

I think we'll see him play when the league returns, I'm just not convinced the league will return in 2020. I'm expecting a fairly normal 2021 season but not until then. Hope I'm wrong, sports can add a lot of value to retired life.

He won’t be at risk of losing his life to covid for another 50 years. He’s far too competitive to miss time willingly.

Since the whole Covid19 thing is overrated I would guess he will play especially during a contract year. If his body can handle PEDs I'm sure he can muster up enough strength to earn his money. Truth hurts.

With 4.25% of the world's population, America has over 30% of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 and close to 35% of the deaths and it isn't over, Doctor.

Unfortunately Type Two Diabetes is fairly common. A lot of people control it quite nicely and live a normal life. Of course COVID-19 poses new risks.

If Patrick Peterson is otherwise healthy, I can see him giving it a go but that's a personal and medical decision he has to make.

Thank you Dr Oz. Yes the virus is danger to a certain people. Although yes everyone can get it but some it's pandemic.

But I feel if Pat Peterson can due PEDs and his body can take of this, then he should be healthy enough to take precautions and be safe.

Don’t want to play, don’t play. Just don’t make a big to-do about it. Patrick Peterson likes attention

What PEDs have to do with his serious preexisting condition (type2-diabetes) is beyond my medical knowledge or "feelings".

Specialists are still trying to sort out the cause/effect of all the test results; spefically - Are the high percentage of correlations of infections and diabetic disorders caused by the diabetes? Or are they caused by socio-economic nutritional or lifestyle factors that concidently cause or run parallel to having diabetes

Behind the scenes, there are numerous "horseraces" to develop vaccines, better understand cause-effect etc. Until then, I wouldn't be shocked if more than a few players played it safe until we know more.

Ok so... regardless of my opinion of Covid19, the point is...

PP knowing used PEDs. He didn't lie about it though is what I find somewhat respectful. But however he knew he was type 2 diabetic and from the articles I read, he had it under control by his diet.

My point.

I got the point.

FYI, people are little sensitive to the issue, so saying it is overblown is going to anger some, especially if they have had loved ones die. And each have a right to take this relative to their situations, I had a cousin die of the disease but I did not take it as a slight to that situation. Again, I understood, but personally, I would not call the situation overblown or describe it other than the virus situation and leave it at that. You do you tho, JMHO.

Peterson is a professional athlete with multiple doctors, chefs, and professional personnel around him. Pretty sure the right decision will be made.

Look no further than Trent Williams with his situation in Washington, and 2020 has been strong in the topic of life vs. money, what is more important, thus I do not think a NFL team is going to be nothing but ULTRA conservative with their players right now. As they always should be, but I digress.....point is Peterson will be fine and will be on the field if the group of people who make their living by him being healthy and happy OK it.

I'm sure you wouldn't make such a bold statement without some proof to support all things medical in this post

Maybe not, but diabetics fall under the higher-risk category for long-term complications from COVID.

Hard to question his apprehension. Remember, his wife is a doctor.

The one thing that is ABUNDANTLY clear in all of this is that metabolic issues / ailments are a huge factor in how people are affected if they get it. I would be concerned if I was P2 as well. It's just smart vigilance.
