I would rather have Carlos Rogers than Rolle or Jones. Pac Man was already off the board when we picked.

Titans suspend Pacman Jones for Sunday's game at Jacksonville

By JIM WYATT
Staff Writer

Titans Coach Jeff Fisher suspended cornerback Pacman Jones today for Sunday's game at Jacksonville as part of the punishment for his latest off-the-field incident.

Jones was not on the practice field today as the Titans began preparations for the Jaguars. Fisher asked Jones to leave Baptist Sports Park earlier today when he reported for meetings and practice.

Fisher said the Titans will also fine Jones an amount to be determined.

"The organization has decided from a disciplinary standpoint to not permit Pac to be around the facility this week, and he will not be permitted to play in this game," Fisher said. "There will also be significant financial considerations. ...

"This action is not a result of our belief that he was either guilty or not guilty as far as the last incident was concerned, but rather it is a result of an accumulation of poor decisions that he’s made over his career here.

"He will not be participating this week on the practice field nor in the game this weekend."

Jones, the team's first-round draft pick in 2005, was cited for misdemeanor assault last weekend after a Tennessee State student accused him of spitting in her face following a verbal altercation at a downtown nightclub.

On Sunday against the Texans the second-year pro returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown and also recorded his first NFL interception.

Fourth-year pro Andre Woolfolk is expected to start at left cornerback against the Jaguars on place of Jones.

"What (Jones) did on the field last weekend is exactly what he was drafted to do," Fisher said. "That’s the type of performance that we expect out of him week in and week out. Why all of a sudden it happened, I can’t tell you. He may have really realized he may be up against the wall and this may be his final chance.

"Again, I’m embarrassed for the organization. I’m embarrassed for the fans because of his choices. As you all know, I can’t go home with him every night. He’s got to make the right decisions.

"Hopefully, he’ll get on the right track and we won’t have any more incidents. However, if there is another incident, it will be awfully telling."

For some reason that sounds really strange.

Same Pac Man that was benched on a horrible Tenesse secondary for poor play? Him? If he's so great of a cover corner, why was he playing the nickel earlier in the year?

Remarks Fisher made later seem to point that this is Pac-Man's last chance with the Titans - next incident, he is gone.

PFT did a story on this today saying they think the Titans will probably release him at the end of the season, largely because they don't believe Pacman can stay out of trouble.

And as they said all it takes is 1 team willing to give him a 2nd chance, and you know someone will.

Sweet we can sign him Green is so good with "troubled" players that should work great.

;)

Well, if the Titans release both Haynesworth and P. Jones at the end of this season, they'll probably have the least-talented defense in the NFL. Those are both Top 15 talents that their respective positions. I'd love to get both of them.

But there's no way the Titans can accept the cap hit of releasing a Top 5 pick two years into his deal.

Actually, they will have the room - plenty of room. Haynesworth won't be cut, but Jones has worn out his welcome here - even among the other players.

This idiot and loser just intercepted another pass and returned it for a TD. Man, Antrel Rolle's so much better than this guy.

He was off the board when we picked. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

Pacman<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<headaches he causes

I disagree, Pac Man has proven to be a good CB this year and ,as a a fan, I care a hell of a lot more about his play on the field than his actions on it. Most fans will probably agree with me on this one.

Titan fans are still split on him. Prior to the past few games, most still wanted him gone. You really have no idea how divisive a person he is, and how much trouble he really is to the team.
