Just heard it on ESPN radio.

Suspended for the year and must put in for reinstatement when the year is up.

Good for the NFL.

Wow--I'll be interested to see how the Titans do without him. He was a huge part of their team's resurgence last season.

Wow. Must have had the union okay to do this. Good move by both the players and management.

Overdue. He has made a mockery of the NFL. Behavior such as his would have had me out on the streets a long time ago.

I haven't heard that they had union approval on this. I have heard people talking about 1 year though.

Evidentally there were several players a couple of weeks ago at a league conference discussing this problem. Both the Union and Players are concerned about losing their public draw because of player misconduct, much like how the NBA suffered in the 90s. The realize that something had to be done to ensure that the business of football doesn't alienate customers (fans) with poor off field issues. It will be interesting to see if it just is handled case by case or if a more strict "you do X, you get Y punishment" policy is created.

Just heard the sports recap again and they didnt mention it this time. You would think they would mention it again. Maybe ESPN anounced it to early or something.

They said John Clayton is reporting..... the first time.

I was watching last night as ESPN went over all his run ins with the law. Unbelievable! Over 10 and I do not think he was convicted on any of them although one of them is still pending. He hangs with his old neighbor hood buddies from the hood and his mother said does not let anyone into his "circle".

I recall many people wanted to draft Pacman when we drafted that year. Sure dodged a bullet with him although the guy we drafted is sure no #1 pick. DB's are tough to pick high in the draft unless you are a Deion Sanders type. I sure would not use my #1 on a DB. Seems we have made that mistake about three times in recent years.

So what are the odds the headline will read Game Over for PacMan?

You can add this one-liner.

"Pacman was tossed for the season, like a fistful of dollars at a strip club."

Really? Your office cares what you do in your office hours? They dictate what you can and can't do once you're off the clock? They can fire you even if you come into work every day on time and perform at an above average level (last season, Pacman Jones was better than all three Cardinals cornerbacks put together)?

Is Pacman a guy that I'd like to put up in my house? Of course not. Does he deserve this punishment? Heck, no. This is a white league trying to send a message to its players that they can't be as black as they wanna be. The NFL is telling its players that the League will not turn into the NBA.

It's a real shame that you get punished harder by the NFL for hanging out with the wrong people on your own time than if you stomp on an unprotected player's noggin in front of 65,000 people.
