Yep.

A question:
I think it was 1:19 for CAR 3rd & Goal at the end. AZ called timeout, why ?
Godforbid CAR scores, we only have 1 TO??!! not enough to get us to FG range. OR Whiz wanted an overtime ???
Well, my first Good, Bad, & Ugly of the season...and all 3 aspects were covered extensively. Well, here it goes:
The Good
A Win-A win is a win I suppose.
Kevin Kolb-18 of 27 for 309 yards and 2 scores. And all without a lick of protection.
Patrick Peterson's punt return-While his defense needs polishing, his punt returning looks solid. Game winner today.
Dan Williams-Looked really good today.
Darrell Washington-He was all over the place. 2 interceptions(I don't care what those officials say, that was a lousy call) and an all around good game.
Beanie Wells-The fumble aside, 90 yards is pretty good start. He hit holes well and ran well to the outside. Had he had better concentration, the game might have been over in the 1st quarter.
LSH-The guy is a beast on ST.
TE-All played well and are a huge asset.
The Bad
Secondary-I'm cutting them a little slack because of the inexperience but they were less than stellar today.
Pressure-The only reason why this isn't in the ugly category is because there were times when Newton was pressured but for the most part Newton had all day to throw including on blitzes.
Ray Horton-Had we lost, he would have been in the ugly bin but the defense came up big in the 4th but my God guy, when you blitz, blitz, and blitz some more and yet you keep getting burned, you might want to switch up your scheme a bit.
The Ugly
Offensive Line-Bad to horrible at times. Brown and Keith are the worst set of bookends in the history of football. All game long I saw both of them either get completely burned or matadoring someone. They had Kolb running for his life all day. Scares me to think how potent this offense would be if we had even a mediocre offensive line.
Game Plan-Once again Whiz and company were ill prepared for this game. And once again, no adjustments were made.
Well, that's all for now. Feel free to add some.

Urban saw what I saw, and he said the sack credited to Porter should've been credited to Washington.
I saw Washington in on at least 2 sacks, but he was only credited with .5.

Man, I was going to steal this meme for myself. Beat me to it.
I totally agree that Washington was excellent today. A huge playmaker.
I was really interested in the run defense. I don't know if that's because we're actually good at stuffing the run for some reason, or if guys were just being extra gap-disciplined in order to contain the possible rushing threat of Cam. We'll see in a couple weeks.
This is what an unsound defense looks like. No one anywhere near the receiver. Hopefully Horton learns from his mistakes, because this was awful.
Run defense!!!!!
I was hesitant to zero in on this in the preseason but we were stout against the run then too. These were two GREAT running backs we went up against and we flat out shut them down. SHUT DOWN.
Dan Williams was a BEAST in the run game. He engulfed guys right at the line or right before it. It was beautiful to watch that whale of a man simply absorb RBs like Bob on Monsters vs. Aliens.
And Joey Porter is totally finished. He had his arms wrapped around Cam and when nothing happened he just kind of stood there.

I don't know why Porter is still in there. He is a shell of his former pass rusher self and a liability at defending the run.

I pretty much agree with everything except for the last one.
Game Plan/Adjustments:
The Cardinals moved the ball pretty well against Carolina. They just made stupid mistakes. Fumbled pitch on the 4 yard line. Missed field goal.
On Defense they really struggled to generate a pass rush early on. However I thought Horton made some good half time adjustments and started harassing Newton more in the second half.
I agree with this. Our game planning and adjustments were pretty good today. We stopped the run game, and put the ball in Cam's hand. We didn't panic on offense, stayed balanced, and moved the ball pretty well.
The pass to Fitz in the 4th Q was a great call by the way.
But there were no adjustments in the first half. And pretty much all game long Newton ate us alive until the last half of the 4th quarter. And even then it took a great stop to secure the win.
What adjustment? Well for starters, stop blitzing every play. Then focus on coverage. The reason why he was so successful because we had single man coverage most of the time. And I'm don't mean stop blitzing. We were blitzing on nearly every play and it was a disaster. What adjustments did you expect? Its all about personnel and we don't have the personnel to get the necessary pressure consistently. What adjustment would you have made to keep Cam from air mailing it everywhere?

It appeared to me that after the blown coverage where somehow Rhodes got underneath the deep receiver and we gave up a long touch down early (I think it was the Steve Smith TD, though it could have been the second one to #11), it seemed adrian wilson was playing the deep man and Rhodes started playing nearer the box. Did anyone else notice that?
Adrian Wilson admitted after the game that he blew the assignment on that play. Wilson was supposed to be deep.
Which one the first Smith TD?
