I wonder if Morgan could have any value as backup ILB. If healthy and limited to 15 plays a game he'd be an upgrade to Beisel.

Wahle was very decent while with the Panthers. Would like to take a look. Although his age starts with a 3 so we probably dont even take a look if our free agent strategy continues to stay the same.

As for Morgan dude should retire. Concussions and neck problems I believe.

How? Beisel can come in for entire games and fill his roll, always has.

Well checking his stats, he's never played a full year. His best year was 2002 when he played 13 games. Too bad he could never stay healthy, but then I guess Carolina would have released him.

Dan Morgan.

The best linebacker never to have played the game.

The guy was fast, strong, great tackler, good in coverage, had a great head for the game, but was ALWAYS injured. It is a shame really.

As for Wahle, I would take him in for the right price.

Yeah, he was a stud in GB, but didnt do much in CAR.

Pro Bowl one year with them and an alternate to the pro bowl another. I think that counts as doing something.

He's worth paying for a flight out for a physical. If the Suns can look at Shaq for a physical we can easily look at Wahle.

Is he the type of lineman that Grimm and Whiz are looking for?

I stand corrected! :)

I would take Wahle for one to two years and i would do an incentive contract with Dan Morgan in a NY minute. Supposedly he is ready to play again and he is a top notch LB when he plays. They are cutting him because his cap number doesn't equate with his ability to stay on the field.

If he checks out medically its a no lose proposition

If we want Wahle we had better get with it

Ex-Panther Wahle to a get a look from Seattle

February 13 Gaston Gazette

"Carolina Panthers guard Mike Wahle might not have to wait long to find a new home. Wahle, a former Pro Bowl guard who was cut Monday by the Panthers, was on his way to Seattle late Tuesday night to visit with the Seahawks."

Wahle begins job hunting

February 13 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

"On Tuesday, a day after he was released by the Carolina Panthers, Wahle said the Packers were the kind of team that appeals to him and returning to the organization that brought him into the National Football League nine years ago would be something he could envision."

Well, we get a close up view to see how good he still is. Should be interesting.

If Faneca signs with us, would you think Seattle or Phoenix improved the most?

Faneca is definitely the better between the two. But a bird in hand... I (like every fan of a team that needs a guard) was hoping we'd go after Faneca before Wahle became available. But I gotta say that I feel a ton better knowing that we've got one of our biggest needs taken care of two weeks before the frenzy begins.

I would think that you guys would have the upper hand on signing Faneca because of the coaching connections but until the ink is dry, who knows? I think Wahle was a great pickup, especially when you consider that free agency hasn't even gotten started. This takes a ton of pressure off going into March.

Now if somebody would just do the right thing and take a RB in the first round, maybe we can actually run the ball again...

...and probably end up in New England along with Zach Thomas.
