Pat Burke's diary
Suns reserve shares his thoughts throughout the NBA playoffs
May 16, 2:26 p.m.
On the suspensions: "I found out yesterday. I had the television on and I saw the suspension went through. It's funny, I kept it quiet (Tuesday,) but I thought all along that they were going to get suspended. We have an NBA meeting at the beginning of every year, and they tell us about the rules and the rule changes. And that's one of the biggest rules. It's cut and dry. You step over that line during an altercation and you're out.''
On the reserves filling in: "Now we're in a worst-case scenario where nobody on the other end is battle-ready. That's one of the upsetting things about this rotation or style of coaching, you got all your eggs in one basket. And now it's the guys who haven't played in a while (getting a chance.) I think the one benefit we have right now is we're playing at home"
On his Game 5 preparation: "(Assistant coach) Marc (Iavaroni) said be ready. That's about it. Nothing major. If there is some foul trouble, I'll probably get in. I don't know. It's a situation where I'm just going to be ready for whatever. Go out and warm up a little extra hard, try to get a good sweat and be ready for what's going to happen."
On the rest of the series: "(The suspensions) are a setback, but they're not going to control everything. The series is tied up. We still have home-court advantage. We know we can go into their place and win. It's not an ending situation. It's one game.''
