Nooooooooooooo! I hate the way this team plays on national TV. Plus it will be 11:30 by the time the game ends and I will be too amped and won't be able to go to bed until 2am and have to be to work by 8. Lastly judging by the start of our New England winter it is going to be cold as he'll that night. At least if it's during the day it will be a balmy 30 degrees instead of 15. I am calling it now there is going to be a huge snowstorm sometime that weekend.

The NFC West will be clinched by then. This will be a good test to see if we can a) win on the east coast b) win in bad weather and c) beat a quality opponent in their house.

Im all for this if it goes down.

taking what will likely be a nasty-weather game and making it nastier in colder temperatures at night isn't my idea of awesome.

I HATE the Pats. I want to win this game more than the Cowboys and Giants combined. It would be sweet if the Cards win and it ends up knocking the cheaters out of the playoffs. Ok I guess I am alright with the Cards doing that in primetime.

I'd rather flex it to 3 pm CT. It's liable to be extremely cold once the sun goes down.

I'm all for it; as another poster pointed out weeks ago having to play the early game on the east coast is tough on the players. Compare playing the 2:15 game here in AZ versus the 11:00 game (mountain time) on the east coast. The players have to wake up at what would be the equivalent of 4 or 5 in the morning...(3 or 4 in the morning prior to the time change as AZ doesn't observe daylight savings time).

I know the majority of the teams in the west right now are subpar but come on 0-15 playing on the east coast?

I'll take a rested team playing in colder weather than an out of sorts team playing during the day.

Come on, have some faith in global warming...it could happen!

First of all, I finally made the plunge and joined! So...the usual here...First time poster, long time reader of the board! but im glad to be here!

Now, to the topic at hand....How about using this side of it, what about it being a good thing playing in the cold weather (at night hopefully) in NE?? I say this because it is looking like the road to the Big Show will go thru NY which we all know will be a super cold environment in January, granted we get that far!

But dont you think that it could be a good thing then to get a little bit of experience playing in the cold weather?? Just a thought....

The time, location, and weather don't scare me about this game. The opposing team does. After all they have been through with injuries to Brady and half of their other starters, they just keep dominating. Belichick is one hell of a coach and will not let them be embarrassed. They just don't tolerate losing.

Welcome aboard! Since newbies buy, I'll have Pan-Seared, Bacon-wrapped slab of Venison in a Burgandy-Fig Reduction Sauce, with a side of spaetzle and creamed spinach, with a glass of Shiraz to wash it all down

Let's actually analyze this instead of taking Somers at his word.

Here are that Sunday's games

Games involving two losing teams:

CIN 1-9 @ CLE 4-7
SF 3-8 @ STL 2-9
HOU 4-7 @ OAK 3-8

Games with one losing team:
NO 6-5 @ DET 0-11
MIA 6-5 @ KC 1-10
NYJ 8-3 @ SEA 2-9

That leaves 6 games between two non-losing teams. Of these, two standout as likely to be protected:
PIT 8-3 @ TEN 10-1
CAR 8-3 @ NYG 10-1

That leaves these 4 games:
PHI 5-5-1 @ WAS 7-4
BUF 6-5 @ DEN 6-5
ATL 7-4 @ MIN 6-5
ARI 7-4 @ NE 7-4

Obviously, a lot can change between now and then. PHI/WAS is likely to not have playoff implications, as one (or both) teams could be eliminated by then.

By then, DEN is likely to have clinched and have nothing to play for. Same for ARI

The game with the most playoff implications would thus be ATL/MIN.

The big selling point will be the potential of an offensive shootout between NE and ARI. Right now, I'd say it's a coin flip between our game and ATL/MIN.

OK, I'll bite. The weather does scare me a bit, but at least it's only a needed game in terms of seeding.

Its better for the team travelling east to play later rather than earlier.

But Trent Dilfer just picked us to win, so we're f'd in that game.
